Really? I saw him at the first Summer Sanitarium tour (might be the same tour to which you're referring), and all I got from his set was a hearty laugh when he tried to sing "Only God Knows Why" without a vocoder/autotuner. Utterly awful.

Mentioned this in the Rep thread, but SLP's woulda been better had they used the same fireworks in half the time.

I miss the Crystal fireworks. Those were always epic, and I'd put them against Coon Rapids any day of the week. They cut them due to budgets, and only have them during the Crystal Frolics, instead of both times (the Frolics is like a town festival for you non-Twin Citians).

Coon Rapids: 25+ minutes. A fantastic finale. I grew up with Coon Rapids, watched Blaine for a few years, went back to Coon Rapids and haven't watched anything else since.

Crystal's were widely considered the best outside of the Mpls/St Paul (actual cities), and IIRC CR's were 2nd best. However, since the Crystal Broadway Pizza closed, thereby not being able to contribute pulltab revenue to the fireworks, Crystal has since had to decide which night to keep fireworks. :(

I hear around the grapevine that CR has been #1 for a while now, due to that (and many many other cities opting for their fireworks to occur during their festivals rather than the 4th, which really disappoints me).

Boston's were pretty awesome.

Long day yesterday. But fun. Didn't get home till 1am. Had to jump in the shower when I got home. I feel like I had a layer of dust grime all over. Got some good pics of Toby Keith. When I get motivated to upload them, I'll post. :)

The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me. We had our hospitality tent check in outside a gate that had a 4'x4' diamond sign that was orange that said WALKWAY CLOSED and was guarded by about 5 state police officers and a few National Guardsmen. And people just walked right by them trying to walk down the path to the Hatch Shell. Now, people know about this event, they should know that there half a million to three quarters of a million people there. Why do they think that showing up at 7pm will get them a seat up front, or close to the stage? I also get a kick out of people trying to get into an invitation-only private party.

I just realized it says Quiz's birthday is today.

Happy birthday to her ...even though she doesn't read the boards. Unless she is a super board spy. :)
