Re: TRP: More metal than your mother

Well, I'll say Joe is a marketing genius. How many of us instantly said "*, why didn't I think of that?!" :p
I probably thought of it around the same time he did; I was simply too young and too broke to pursue the idea at the time.
As far as pop/rock stars go, Kid Rock is far from crappy music, if you are a fan of his general style that is copied/that he has copied.
I called him mediocre not crappy. Either way, I don't like any of his songs.

1. I always said I used the shampoo "Suave, For Men," and lo and behold, that was created about 3-4 years after I said it.

2. And I'm not saying he's great; I just don't understand the hatred simply because he's not "really from Detroit" or "he's not artistic enough" etc. ;)

I don't care where he's from or how artistic he is; I just don't like his music and think he's white trash.

Well, he's admitted he's white trash. :p

Personally, I liked the song he did with Sherryl Crow

Heh, at a buddy's bachelor party, bar-hopping, a couple other buddies karoaked that song. It was hilarious. (the duet is him and Sheryl Crow).

And yet due to the smoking, it won't be all that long 'til you will have difficulty climbing stairs without wheezing because of the reduced lung capacity.
Welcome to my world. :( :o

I'd walk right over and smack you, but I'd be out of breath.

Kidding. It takes a lot for me to be out of breath. It's not like I smoke like TAJ.
I used to think the same thing: can't happen to me. Then out of the blue, wham!... hammerpunched!

Not being able to breathe properly affects everything you do.

Re: TRP: More metal than your mother

You know, I really don't get the unnatural hatred of Kid Rock from people (especially those from MI). I understand if you don't like the rap/rock combo.

However, here's a guy who actually plays a few instruments, writes his own songs (AFAIK), and works at it, because he knows he's lucky to be where he's at.

The songs aren't Mozart or whatever, but he appeals to the average Joe. You hear some of his lyrics, and you can probably identify some part of your life with his lyrics. The only exception is maybe "Only God Knows Why" because it's really cheesy, but even then, it's like an homage to the 80s power ballad, which many a person loves.

And on the opposite spectrum, people eat up Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, etc etc.
I don't care what that Commie says I like Kid Rock too. :p

Re: TRP: More metal than your mother

Holiday weekend? I think that means afternoon drinking.

Re: TRP: More metal than your mother

He comes off as white trash, and his rap/rock combo is mediocre. If you're gonna opt for that genre, Linkin Park makes more sense.

Linkin Park is one of the greatest bands of the 2000's. From their first CD, Hybrid Theory, to their collaboration with the greatest rapper of all time, to their awesome concerts, Linkin Park is amazing. Chester Bennington is not one of these emo *kers who pretends to be mad at his dad. He was sodomized by his uncle when he was a kid. The band, all of them, will stick around after every show and sign autographs for everyone. Take some great songs into the mix and it's a seriously awesome band.

Welcome to my world. :( :o

this is why I still don't understand why anyone smokes.
