We had a sendoff at work today for a co-worker and we tried our best to give him a roast. Part of my contribution:

“Ryan, I refuse to spend much time on this given that you’re such a d!ckh**d, but I will retell one of your brighter moments:

Ryan: Hey Webbie, I see you’re wearing a Carhart today. How come you’re always giving me s*|t for wearing mine?
Me: Because it’s 50 below Laska and I wear mine for function, while you wear yours for fashion.

“This was followed by silence, a miracle of miracles. And of course everyone here knows I had to edit 15 effenheimers from his one sentence in the interest of time.”

It may not come off as well without knowing him, but picture an endlessly cursing chicken farmer from southern Minnesota that spent 8 years in the Navy and that’s this dude. :D

Some people get checks free with their accounts. I don't pay for checks for example, they are supplied as I need them. Of course, I go through about 3 in a typical month.

So you write all your checks for $0? :p It costs you nothing more to use a check card than it does to write a check, so your comment about key cards not costing you money when you swipe them is pointless :p

No, my point was valid, because it was referring to an electronic lock, where you swipe a card, and how I like that idea, but I don't get a debit card, because I don't like that idea.

You swipe your key: free
You swipe a debit card: costs you money

I thought you were a doctor, and therefore smart? :p

Swiping a debit card does not always cost you money. Sometimes you get a certain number of free PoS transactions per month, so if you get some cash from the ATM according to your budget, and you use your free swipes wisely, there's little reason to be regularly writing checks. ;)

You write a check: costs you money.

So you like spending money in check form, but not in card form. You make no sense. Yep, I'm a doctor, and I give you a failing grade. :p

Get a check card, you don't pay per swipe period. Ditch the debit card :p
