Re: TRP: Hail Marys And False Hopes
So, today at work was craptacular, but it was only sign of what the next month is gonna be like.
1. We have 6 licensed power equipment workers, including me but not including the 2 mgrs and DHead Boss (forklift jockeys, using USCHO jargon

). At least 4 need to be on a machine at any given time.
2. 1 is out for the next month because his ankle is messed up big time (possible bone spurs) and 1 is out for the next two weeks because his knee is messed up (both are non-work-related, btw).
3. 1 is on vacation next week.
4. Of the remaining 3, 1 of them has to run the UPS/FEX HAZMAT area.
5. That leaves 2 regularly-on-machine drivers, which I am one of them for sure. And lemme tell you, it wreaks havoc on your body after a week straight (8+ hours a day) on them. I've been on one every day, open to close, for the past 2 1/2 weeks. "Only" 4 weeks to go.
Whee.
Oh, and when we asked DHead Boss about training new drivers, he said that "we can't just throw them on a machine, it takes a while to ramp up" (but it's SOMETHING, you imbecile) and had the BALLS to say "believe me, this situation hurts me as much as you guys." NO. It does NOT. You are not limping around with your back hurting like all us forklift jockeys after a hard week.
Whee.
Beer time.
