Re: TRP: Felching Sucks

Currently:

Temp: 76
Humidity: 79
Dew Point: 69

Yeah, today is gonna be fun at my non-air-conditioned warehouse.
It is hotter than a 2 pecker billy goat outside.
it's 89 right now in St. Louis with a 70 degree dewpoint. :(

You all can lick my sweaty nut sack (you can bite my arse too). :p

I heard that there are plenty of fun roads with not so fun cops in Indiana if you have a GSXR 750.

More reason I want a bike, though milder (and older and cheaper) than a Gixxer. Anyone know anything about the Honda CX500?

Re: TRP: Felching Sucks

So instead of a dick extension with the GSXR, you'd rather get a strap-on dick with a Harley?

Nothing wrong with an American legend like a Harley. It's like eating apple pie and watching baseball.

Don't let the terrorists win, BPH.

Big, loud, unreliable, overpriced, sucks too much gas, and essentially a substitute for a phallus? Yup, that's American. :o
besides, I prefer another type of pie!
I'm not looking for something to conquer the road just yet, and if Harley made a midsize bike for somewhat under $10k, I'd be interested. Maybe I'd consider getting a Sportster for my second bike, but I want something more tractable (but still fully roadtrip-capable) for my first one.

Sorry, but that first sound of a Harley revving up on a nice day is a simple pleasure of mine. It's beautiful.

How about a Kawasaki? My dad has a '78 KZ1000 and an '04 Vulcan. Both very capable road bikes without all the <strike>peener</strike> flag waving of a Harley.

Oddly enough, his Harley riding, Vietnam vet buddy who still uses the term "Japs" has no problem with them.

Plus the ride sucks on a Harley. Give me a Honda inline 4 cyl bike any day over a V twin.

Of course, not being a guy, I don't have worry about whether or not my bike is 'manly' enough. :D

I'd be looking for something between 500 and 750, but I'd have no problems with a Kawasaki. Definitely don't want a crotch rocket though.

I've been looking at that Honda because it has shaft drive, a water cooled engine, and everyone says they last for freaking ever (100k plus, which is pretty much unheard-of for a bike.)

I don't think you can go wrong with them. They are as well built as their cars. My first bike was a 16 year old Interceptor 500. It never gave me a problem in the two years I rode it. I traded it in because I wanted something with a bigger motor.

ETA - We had a couple of friends with the 6 cyl Valkyries. They were in the same situation, reliability wise. They rode the living heck out of them and I don't recall either of them ever having a problem. As a matter of fact, the only rider to break down on the side of the road was my ex on his custom, and the parts that broke on that were usually the parts that the bike had in common with H-D.
