TRP: Changing Conferences Since 1999

Re: TRP: Changing Conferences Since 1999

Tried some 750K scoville ghost pepper hot sauce this past weekend. Not bad. Still had actual taste. I will be honest, the sample (which was the same method as the other ones I tried, ranging from 100K-500K) were to take a toothpick, dip it in the sauce, and dab a couple drops in the middle of your tongue, wait 5-10 seconds, then swallow (insert joke here).

The lady said that anything higher than 750K is worthless/dangerous without mixing with food, even at that small a taste-sample.

Perspective: tobasco is about 4-8K, and 1.5MM-2MM is law-enforcement pepper spray.

Heh, funny you say this. I tried a 2 million scoville pepper extract sauce yesterday. Toothpick dipped in, wiped it off on a frito chip. It wasn't all that bad, I didn't need milk, but I had some to cool the burn faster. The sauce was Mad Dog 22 Midnight Special.

To add perspective, habanero is about 300k.

I bet it was bbdl:

I vaguely remember having a cowboy explain his belt buckle to me in the bathroom hallway

Everyone getting psyched for the Frozen Four? Less than a month away now!

Re: TRP: Changing Conferences Since 1999

Who cares? You weird-azz upper midwesterners don't even think the Final 5 is an actual championship.

Best conference tourney in the nation, hands down. :p

It's like a mini-F4, which you experienced last year. ;)

I'm sure you'll have fun, but don't pretend it isn't as regional as the Beanpot. :p

Not at all. I'm not spending my time or money on that. I can't be excited about watching it when the sport is willing to simply disregard a whole chunk of teams, including my alma mater's. I'll spend my money and vacation on other things.

I totally understand this point of view, but I honestly think (and hope) that people are underestimating the impact that the WCHA will have in the future. To hear people talk, it's going to be the CHA. I just don't see that happening. But again, I can't blame you for anger at this point.

What am I missing here? The Frozen Four is the Frozen Four. Is he mad at what the NCAA is allowing to happen to the conferences? Because that seems totally separate from what the Frozen Four is.

Oh, and jmh, I'm looking forward to it!

Scarlet I agree with you, and I won't try to speak for bbdl, but I could understand that someone who feels like his or her team is getting steamrolled might have trouble rallying to the sport as a whole.
