Yeah, the thing that's struck me about this winter's cold (is the cold like the flu, in that there's a different strain each winter, and basically everyone who gets the flu in a given winter has the same strain?) is that it seems to linger and hit people again after they think they're done with it.Ya, I had symptoms for about a month with it. Granted, I didn't go get any prescriptions for it, but it still whipped my ***, and I rarely get sick.

No. Colds can be caused by a LOT of viruses. My off the cuff guess is there are dozens - if not hundreds - of viral combinations that can give you a cold. So there is no dominant strain.
