TRP: Alcohol-Induced Impotence

Re: TRP: Alcohol-Induced Impotence

Dx, you're a moron. Starbucks does not burn all their roasts. Have you ever had their breakfast blend? It's an incredibly mild roast. It's wonderful.

Starbucks must be doing something right considering how big they are. And unlike walmart Starbucks actually takes care of it's employees. Quiz has approx 400 shares of stock just by working there for 2 years

Starbucks just came in on the 100 best places to work list, as put out by Fortune - link That said, being a good place to work doesn't mean the put out the best product.

And with that said, their product isn't really bad. It's just not as good as others that are out there. Where they succeed is that they were first. They took the chic coffee house and made it a national chain. And they did it faster than most companies could recognize the trend. Basically, they're the Wal-Mart of the coffee house industry, only they get their product from third-world countries other than China and they have a good relationship with their employees.

Hey, Bro Gin and Quiz: you guys are really weird:

(970):
We've already decided our costumes for next Halloween. She's going as Cookie Monster and I'm going as Elmo. She's just going to ask for Oatmeal Cookie shots, and I'm asking for Red-Headed Slut shots.

(303):
Dude, its January.

(970):
We're going to do the voices too.

The coffee is really different from location to location. The Starbucks near my work is usually bitter and overcooked. The one's ive been to near my parents in Atl are much better.

Whichever place you go to you should just try to find a cup that you consistently like. It will never be perfect every single time.

Yeah, I have. It's mediocre coffee. Sorry. I don't mean to offend anyone, it's just my opinion. I've always found their coffee to be overroasted. Starbucks is as big as they are because of a genius behind the wheel. It's middle of the pack coffee but marketed brilliantly, and I'll take your word at treating their employees well but then again I have my own anecdotes saying the opposite.

Coffee is like pizza. Purely subjective.

I've managed to boycott Starbucks successfully for eight months now. It's not hard, considering there are only two of them in Duluth. When I fire up my coffee pot every morning, I'm guaranteed a fresh brew.

And when I want a little nipper in my morning mug o' Joe, I don't get a disapproving look when I pull out my bottle. :D

(Anyone know how to get the smell of beer out of a beer darts mat?)

Re: TRP: Alcohol-Induced Impotence

Interesting using what appears to be nails in the puck for a backstop. Usually it's a U-bolt or something similar.

But I'm glad that Beerdarts (c) is out east. Practice up for the F4, and maybe the founder of the game will play you! :D

Not a puck, though that would've made a lot of sense; three heavy silicone coasters held together by the nails. I saw the pictures on the website showing that they usually use a U-bolt but the nails were simpler.

Coasters are also an interesting idea. I tell ya, you easterners are an odd bunch. ;)

Can't wait until the F4!

Well, I was basically wandering around various stores looking for something sturdy I could drive those nails into. Then I realized: hey, that's what coasters are for, anyway, is putting your beer on.

I'm just pleased that BeerDarts is going national. :D

Well, it was probably only a mitigated success - there were some people in our group who just could not get used to the idea that someone else was going to be throwing a dart at them. Plus we only had like an hour of daylight left when we started tailgating (our own fault, granted) and then it got too dark to play.

It'll take time. When GLM was here, he looked like a little kid who just saw Santa. A little amazement, a little awe, and much enjoyment. I've had other non-USCHO easterners wonder what the hell BeerDarts was, how it came about, etc.

Re: TRP: Alcohol-Induced Impotence

We played BeerDarts IN Campus Pizza during the Sioux series. It was my frist time playing. I flinched every time the dart was thrown the first time around. I was also terribly afraid I was going to hit my opponent despite the fact I put the dart in the crease every throw (but I couldn't hit the **** can).

I have to admit, I only have played one game of BeerDarts (against WPoS on GPL, the founder, no less). He had first shot. He bottom-holed the dart on his first throw. On top of that, it was one of the first games of the day. Now that's what I call a poetic "career." Best shot, on the first throw, against a BeerDarts Rookie. I had to retire after that. Too good of a story to pass up. :o

Re: TRP: Alcohol-Induced Impotence

You're acting like you're the only one Worthless has ever done that to...I think you're just scared to play. :p

Not too scared. You were there. It was beautiful. If BeerDarts could be marketed to Hollywood, that's the story they'd start to write (and it would end with the rookie taking down the champ on one shot, sure, but I digress). I don't mind losing one bit, hell I'm a Bills fan, and currently watching my Devils team completely suck. But to say that you've played BeerDarts, never threw a dart and the game lasted one throw? And that's your "career?" I love it.
