Re: TRP: Alcohol-Induced Impotence

You know what I don't understand? I don't understand how anyone prefers watching basketball to watching hockey.
Easier to follow the movement of a basketball than a puck would be my guess.

Either that or it's a racial thing, somehow.

Re: TRP: Alcohol-Induced Impotence

Where do you even buy bass? I imagine you can buy dead ones at a fish market, butcher shop or supermarket, but live ones? No clue. Might be better off trying to catch one.

Those jokes are about as funny as Schindler's List.

Hoping for a used one (these things be mad espensive yo) that looks like this:

you don't. Smallmouth and Largemouth aren't good for eating, and the only bass I've ever seen for sale is seabass, which isn't that good anyway

I've had largemouth, and it wasn't bad. Its obviously not walleye, but beer batter it and deep fry it and I wouldn't complain.

if I'm gonna catch something and eat it, I'll do walleye, perch, bluegills, or crappies. Northern, bass, and lake trout I catch and release. And I even do that with most walleyes. I'll only keep them for eating if they are in the 16"-21" range. Anything bigger is not that good, and smaller is just stupid.

Re: TRP: Alcohol-Induced Impotence

My parents had an inexplicable taste for northern pike when I was a kid, and they still do - frankly, I won't touch the stuff. My dad would agree that bass is inedible though. He was forced to eat a lot of it as a kid, and he won't even consider keeping it anymore.

Walleye is good though. When they get a little too big, you just deep fry 'em. Smoked lake trout is also OK.

I've had it as well and have no complaints. I'd prefer walleye, perch, or crappie, but if those aren't available, there's nothing wrong with bass if prepped right.

Re: TRP: Alcohol-Induced Impotence

Both large and smallmouth bass are OK if not too large and prepared right. Northern are tasty, but hard to get all the y-bones out and hence a pain to eat.

We do this every year-- my family has an annual bass fishing tournament on opening weekend. After the weigh-in, we figure out how much fish we'll need to feed everyone while letting the rest go, then have a big fish fry. They're actually pretty good when they're that fresh (and, well, you've been drinking since 11am, but that's not the point.) IMHO, smallmouth is probably the better of the two, and while I wouldn't go so far to say they're my favorite, but I've had far worse.

Bullhead?
And that was it. Never. F*king. Eating. That. Shyte. Again.

How do you get a professional transvestite and the creator of the good version of The Office confused?
I think they look and sound alike. (I guess the fact that I'm more familiar with Izzard from The Riches than from anything in which he wore women's clothing contributes to that.)

Oh please, who do you think you're fooling? Of COURSE drinking since 11am is the point.
