Trouble at Boston Marathon?

Re: Trouble at Boston Marathon?

Boy, the aunt and the uncle couldn't be further apart.

Re: Trouble at Boston Marathon?

Is she saying they were framed or not? I honestly can't tell. If it weren't for the people killed and injured this would be popcorn TV.

Re: Trouble at Boston Marathon?

I'm trying to listen to the aunt, but she kind of sounds like a pile of crazy herself.

Re: Trouble at Boston Marathon?

What's also clear here is that they weren't finished. The Marathon bombings were the beginning, not the end.

Yes. That was the biggest worry from the outset. Now I really want to know more about that Saudi national they caught on Monday who was given an expedited extradition order on Tuesday. Maybe we should hold off on sending him out of the country for a few more days, eh? As long as he's in custody, there's no big rush any more, is there?

Yeah, she needs a handler to hustle her away at this point.

I agree. I usually don't like these rabbit hole chases that the extremes set us on, but in this case, I hope the press stays on the feds until we get to the bottom of this Saudi.

Psychologically, can we ever isolate or identify what it is that causes a seemingly normal person, who happens to be a Muslim, to become a ruthless killing machine? These two were young guys, not particularly well educated. But "Dr." Hasan is an Army officer, a doctor and psychiatrist. Highly trained. Highly educated. Yet Anwar Al Awlaki was able to whisper in his ear and turn him into a murderer of unarmed GI's.

A couple of my tin-foil hat wearing associates (brother-in-law & friend) are both highly educated.

I get that they're not mass-murderers or capable of that, but they are certainly receptive to suggestion. Level of education doesn't appear to be the end-all.

I just can't get the image out of my mind: Doomed Martin Richard with a bomb within arm's reach as Hardword #2 strolls away. I want to shout at the boy to get the h*ll out of there. But it's too late.

At the risk of running afoul of the keepers of PC, are these guys Muslim? That seems to be the relevant variable in these cases. Lots of people have unorthodox views, only a microscopic percentage of them go "postal." "Dr." Hasan is the case that fascinates me, and will up 'to the moment he gets the hot shot.

BREAKING NEWS: FBI says bombing suspect may be driving a 4-door, green 1999 Honda Civic with Massachusetts plates 116GC7.

Fears are that he may have somehow slipped out of the city...

Confusion...they thought it was a Honda CR-V, it is a Honda Civic.

Well, McVeigh wasn't.

I just think that certain individuals are wired to be receptive to ideas that the rest of us would think are nuts or simply make no logical sense.

To your point, I believe that religion, or more precisely, religious fanaticism, can be an accelerant in a potentially volatile individual.
