Travel Part 3: Destination Unknown

Re: Travel Part 3: Destination Unknown

For anyone traveling in or out of LGA airport. You should plan two hours at least to get to the terminal from the city. Cab, or subway doesn't matter. You might get there a little quicker by going to one of the hotels off to the south and then walking across. It's an easy hour from the off-ramp to the terminal, and this is not the high season. Christmas or summer will be worse. It might, emphasize might, get better in 2022 when the construction is finished.
It also will take an hour from the time you get your bag or walk outside to get a cab and be on your way in. The cab stand is now remote, you need a shuttle to get to it and the traffic is gridlocked so the shuttle will take 45 minutes plus time in the cab line.

Mookie is hanging and eating in an open court bar in hua hin while a boy girl band is performing “the rose” and “song sung blue”

Certainly a first

I used to avoid ATL. Yeah, it's crowded and that's annoying. At least it's reasonably modern, and they do such a good job of just flat-out moving thousands of people.

Of course, it helps that I have SkyClub access and I know which ones are usually the least crowded.

The thing about LGA is it has been a nightmare since I was in high school, and I was in high school in 1979.

BOS is the model for how to do it right. It used to be a clusterf-ck but since they finally, finally fixed the tunnels it's a breeze now.

The TX airports I have been through have been great, other than being filled with Texans. DEN is my favorite, though.

That's what LAX and LGA will eventually be, but it's going to take almost 10 years and Cthulu knows how many billions in cost overruns.

Decided on Ann Arbor in January, Denver in June, and a return to the Twin Cities around Christmas next year.

Not flashy, but I need to see cities that aren't Holland, Grand Rapids, or Muskegon.
