Transfer Season

Question on in conference transfers.
I remember someone telling me that the rule was the player had to sit a year after transferring within their conference but that the rule was changed and that is no longer a requirement. I cannot find that change to see it and read it. Does anyone have knowledge of that change?
Where it existed, it was a conference rule. For example, the WCHA had one, while Hockey East did not. In the transfer portal and COVID-19 eras, it seems to be gone or suspended. For example, McKenna Webster, who I doubt would qualify as a graduate transfer, moved from UW to tOSU and didn't have to wait a year. I'm not aware that any other league currently has such a rule in place.

The two most recent examples I know of are both in Big Ten men's basketball. In 2012, a Wisconsin recruit named Jarrod Uthoff transferred to Iowa after red-shirting his freshman year at Wisconsin, and had to sit the 2012-2013 season. And then after missing most of the 2017-2018 season to injury, and after a coaching change, Micah Potter transferred from Ohio State to Wisconsin, but was made to sit out both the entire 2018-2019 season and was also forced to sit out the first half of the 2019-2020 season (because of the particular timing of the whole thing? never did fully understand it).

There could certainly be others, but I recall those because of the Wisconsin role in both.
