Tournament Speculation Thread

Re: Tournament Speculation Thread

You are probably right. Given the attention to travel you would think the MSOE/SNC with a Gustavas/STU match up would have made sense

So I'm thinking SNC would have preferrred MSOE in the first round. But I could be wrong.

Re: Tournament Speculation Thread

No complaints.

I'm just confused as to why Plymouth State would host Wentworth? I figured it would be the other way around.

Did Wentworth put in an application to host a playoff game? Are their facilities NCAA worthy to host.

Hosting isn't automatic. We all remember the UMass-Dartmouth controversy.

Re: Tournament Speculation Thread

And if Oswego and Plattsburgh win, we get Game 4 to decide this year's SUNYAC rivalry which is all tied up at 1-1-1.

If that rematch happens - it has to be the nightcap on 3/16. Shame they are on the same side of the bracket - can't quite call it "The Brawl For It All". Of course, on eof those purple teams could screw it up for everyone, too.

I'm sure it would be the late game if it were to happen.

I would think it is worthy for hosting and NCAA game - it is a D-1 facility (Matthews Arena). More likely they never put in the application, right?

Re: Tournament Speculation Thread

Let me be the first to say that Hobart got screwed:)

And Wentworth plays at Matthews Arena, it is very tournament worthy.

Re: Tournament Speculation Thread

Is it too early to start packing for Placid? Russell, don't forget your sunscreen.

Probably the latter, as MSOE was never ranked (as far as we know...), and should be the 4W seed.

Then count me confused. Because Milwaukee to GB is a shorter bus trip than to the cities, much less the other matchup.

That said giving the #1 seed the at large team makes sense from some perspective. Not sure I like it but....

To the NCAA minds, it's either a bus trip or an airplane trip. It is a binary decision for them. They don't care about distance beyond the decision to decide bus trip or airplane trip.

So, I suspect they were trying to avoid an intra-conference game once geography was no longer an issue.
