Re: Top Chef Las Vegas

Good preview of the Top Chef players this year.

For the Blue and Maize fans, Eve got a good review.

Know of any other good sites for Top Chef?

That was a good review for Eve.

We talked to her about it, and in local interviews she confirmed one of our main questions- what made you do it? She was invited by the show to be on it- she's NEVER seen Top Chef, and had no idea what it was. So this will be interesting to watch.

I'm not a huge fan of her "makeover" for the show- we are more used to her in a all white chef uniform and a basic white ball cap.

She's a super nice person, and no matter what happens on the show, I'll be a HUGE fan of her food. And it will also help me filter the show better (we met Radihka the weekend prior to her leaving the show last.... she should never have been put in front, based on how we interacted with her).

Can't wait.

Re: Top Chef Las Vegas

Didn't catch any of the Masters (mainly due to my DVR not picking up on the title change), but I'm sure as hell pumped about this. Wednesday night is getting better with my Bengals on Hard Knocks, and me getting hungry at 10 o'clock every night now with Top Chef.

Masters has been great. There's no BS, no trying to screw eachother, no attitudes. Just great cooking and a mutual respect for eachother. I'm rooting for Keller & Bayless.

Re: Top Chef Las Vegas

Quick question -- anyone know why these aren't available to own on dvd or watch online?

Re: Top Chef Las Vegas

I still can't believe that Rick Bayless is brothers with Skip Bayless.
Did all the talent have to go to only one of the brothers? Not at all surprised he won. Rick was probably the most consistently good chef on the show.

Thoughts on Top Chef Vegas: I would not be sad to see Michael I. leave quickly. Otherwise uneventful. The first episode never really gives a lot to go on.

Re: Top Chef Las Vegas

I'd like to see the brotherly rivalry between Michael and Bryan develop. It's good for ratings and they both seem middle of the pack, so I'm guessing they'll both be on for at least a month.

Blue and maize fans, Eve looked as bad as Michigan's squad last year.

I like Jennifer. She seems to be not only talented, but fierce too. Of course I'm biased, she's easily the sexiest contestant and her smile is killer. Bravo will make sure she makes a deep run at it to make sure my demographic keeps tuning in I bet, woohoo!

Anyway, regardless of my kind of smacktalking, looks like it will be a decent season. It won't be close to as good as season 1 was, but it won't be close to as bad as season 2 was.

The comraderie has been a highlight.Keller and then Bayless according to the fan poll, but tonight Bayless wins out. Earned and deserved.

I still can't believe that Rick Bayless is brothers with Skip Bayless.

You are kidding, aren't you?

BTW, Skillet doux picked the first out. Now I'll have to see where they seeded Kevin.

That wasn't fun to watch. But, I kind of expected it, based on her comments that the cameras and the "reality" format really threw her off. Knowing her temperment, a little, I really wonder how long she will last.

The good news for her, apparently Eve (her restaurant) is hard to get a table at now. Not that it was easy before, but she's been in a lot of local press- all of it good.

Again, recalling what she said, I bet that the person that was ousted last night, is actually a very good cook.

I like Jennifer, too, but I hope the editing is making her look more of a B than she really is. Like M Isabella seems like a total tool, who can cook. The winner last night, Kevin, seems like he'd be fun to have cook for you.l

Kidding that they're brothers? No.

He is the brother of ESPN personality and sports journalist Skip Bayless. In 2008, he was widely considered to be a serious contender for the position of White House executive chef under the administration of Barack Obama.[2]

Or did you mean kidding that I can't believe it? I mean, I know a few brothers with very different personalities, but not like the public personas of those two.

Thinking back to the catering challenge where they got the former Top Chef contestants as sous for them, Rick had probably the best management style of all of them (at least as far as you can tell from Bravo's editing). I can't picture Skip matching that. Given that, it's kinda funny that Rick is the one that's on reality TV and Skip is the one working for a legitimate news outlet.

As for Las Vegas, I'm glad to see a hearty representation of DC on the show - both current and former folks. I'll have to make the rounds to a couple of the places they've worked. I've been meaning to do that, but money's too tight for steak.
