This Round's On Us: UND at Michigan Tech, March 5-6

Re: This Round's On Us: UND at Michigan Tech, March 5-6

It will be very difficult to top the '82 and '00 Senior Classes.

'82 Senior Class:
- 3 Frozen Fours, 3 appearances in the title game, 2 National Championships
- 3 WCHA Championships
- 2 WCHA Tournament Championships

'00 Senior Class:
- 4 NCAA Appearances, 2 Frozen Fours, 2 National Championships
- 3 WCHA Championships
- 2 WCHA Tournament Championships

Yes I understand that over the course of a 4 year career other senior classes did more. But this year starting with with the MacNaughten, this team seems to have a legitimate shot at running the table and collecting a lot of hardware.

Agreed. Only three UND teams have swept all the hardware, 1980, 1987 and 1997. FWIW, 1997's team shared the MacNaughton, and the 1980 team shared the WCHA Tournament title (back when co-champions were given).

Teams that have won the "true" trifecta (sharing nothing):
1991 Northern Michigan
1990 Wisconsin
1987 North Dakota
1977 Wisconsin
1962 Michigan Tech

Several other teams have won all three, but either shared the Regular Season or Tournament titles:
2005 Denver
1997 North Dakota
1980 North Dakota
1968 Denver
1961 Denver
1960 Denver

(WCHA Tournament started in 1960)

socal you are old enough to know better. Must you run off your mouth like a blowhard? I know you mean well but remember this: our team saves their statements for the ice. Dont be an Eli. These early celebrations are not good mojo.

You're the kind of guy that would slap a pitcher on the butt and tell him he has a no-hitter going as he walks out to the mound in the bottom of the ninth.

Andrew MacWilliam will crush anyone who dares try to start anything. After singlehandedly dismantling every Husky player on the ice, he will charge up to the pressbox and further injure the 47 Tech players who are are made out of glass and cannot stay healthy. Brett Olson will be thrown onto the ice. Next MacWilliam will attack Blizzard and steal his head. He will then proceed to wear the Blizzard head the rest of the game and score his first career goal.

Who!?!?!?!?

Who!?!?!?!?

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers! And you will know my name is MacWilliam when I lay my vengeance upon thee!

I pray that he doesn't fall down again to let in the easy goal like Friday...:D

Re: This Round's On Us: UND at Michigan Tech, March 5-6

Here's what I'm hoping happens this weekend:

We come out and play great on Friday night and win the MacNaughton outright.
On Saturday we play Eidsness and rest some players that may be a little banged up. Play Bruneteau, Gleason, Dickin, Cichey and any other guys that haven't got to play much this season. I'm not mailing in Saturday's game because these guys are still talented but I'm thinking of the playoff run.

Then next weekend we need to come out hard both nights and don't give Tech a chance for the upset. We need to win the first two games. Before anything can happen we need to win the first round of the playoffs at home. I'm sick and tired of these series going three gams like last year against Minnesota.

If we're able to beat Tech in the first round, after that I'm sort of ambivalent. Sure I'd like to win the Broadmoor but if we got upset in the semis we get some extra rest and probably some more determination to win our first round regional game. The key to all of this is beating Tech three out of four games. I'm optimistic that we can do this but stranger things have happened.

We should be able to do that, but the games aren't played on paper. My greatest wish for this weekend is to come out of it healthy.

This senior class has worked very hard to get where they are now. They simply should not let anyone else have any hardware, nothing! Ok maybe Dean Blais will win coach of the year, but other than that nothing.

And Jason Zucker will win rookie of the year, and ......

Re: This Round's On Us: UND at Michigan Tech, March 5-6

We might see a repeat of this game in the next couple of weekends.

Tech will keep it closer on small ice surface. I would say 4 - 1 & 3 - 1
Although getting outshot about 2 - 1
#1 team in the country, final week of the season and they have to give tickets away to get people into the buiding.
I am sure the Girls BB game will out draw the Hockey game by a substatial margin.

Re: This Round's On Us: UND at Michigan Tech, March 5-6

They really should just move the games to Grand Forks as all sorts of people will show up for the games. Give Tech like half the gate. Everyone is happy.

Is student attendance expected to hit double digits?
