This Round's On Us: UND at Michigan Tech, March 5-6

Re: This Round's On Us: UND at Michigan Tech, March 5-6

I for one expect Tech to come out tough and strong.

Over / Under on the attendence ( actual bodies in the stands ) is 1600 Friday
and 1400 on Saturday with MTU Women's BB Playoffs & High School Regional Final
in the afternoon. Both will draw more than the Hockey Huskies.

With 4 losses to ND over the next two weeks that will leave MTU 4-30-4

Very Sad !

This thread already has almost as many posts as the UND-BSU thread got in an entire week.

That's because no one tried to steal one of my lines in the BSU thread. Next thing you know he'll be trying to claim ownership of Landcows.

Because everyone knows that it was brianvf that came up with "Landcows".

Hockey is boring when you know the outcomes.
So true. The only thing that made that game against the Saturday game against the Gophers entertaining was the fight and the cheerleader eye****ing the **** out of me for the entire 2nd period. :p ;)

That or she was making sure she has an accurate description for a restraining order.

Michigan Tech's MacNaughton Cup at the Ralph again! Also the Broadmore at the Ralph for at least another weekend, but hopefully for another year. And possibilities for a NC and a Hobey Baker award.

MacNaughton is the hardware everyone in the WCHA wants the most. It just looks so cool when it is hoisted over a player's head. Will be nice to see Genoway accept the cup but would be nicer to see him in uniform with the cup over his head.

Might be kind of a drag for Michigan Tech. to see UND with the cup two weekends in a row. Also Sioux will begin their defense of the Broadmore against Tech. at home.

Sioux ranked #1 in nation, toughest schedule, and with Hobey candidate Frattin playing as well as he is, this senior class could collect a lot of hardware, and could go down in history as UND's best Senior class ever, but they will have to earn it.

Oh yeah, still have to play Tech this weekend. So easy to look past Tech. just ask DU.

Maybe to make the series more challenging UND could play just centers and defensemen Friday night (would be fun to see Blood and MacWilliams set up in front of opponents net) and centers and forwards Saturday night. Also let Tate Maris start at least one game.

It will be very difficult to top the '82 and '00 Senior Classes.

'82 Senior Class:
- 3 Frozen Fours, 3 appearances in the title game, 2 National Championships
- 3 WCHA Championships
- 2 WCHA Tournament Championships

'00 Senior Class:
- 4 NCAA Appearances, 2 Frozen Fours, 2 National Championships
- 3 WCHA Championships
- 2 WCHA Tournament Championships

I should have been more clear, that was kind of an inside joke from Saturday night/Sunday between the group of us that went out. My bad.

Unless the coaches lay down the law in the lockerroom before the games, I think this weekend could get ugly from the Tech side. Playing at home with absolutely nothing to lose, knowing you're going to play the Sioux four or five times in 10 days, and knowing that UND can't afford to get involved in a dust up after the whistle they might be inclined to take a few liberties. If I was on the ice, I would be doing anything in my power to avoid putting up a "30" in the "L" column. I would guess the league is going to put the refs on notice to run a tight ship this weekend as well for just these reasons.
