Absolutely wrong. UNH is a stronger team this year than SLU, but Weninger did not steal this one. He was great, but so was UNH's goalie. I attended this game and SLU won this one straight up.

Not very telling, of course, except for the fact that it's NOT POSSIBLE.

The system is fragile. As long as you're in, all it takes is that 4 game win streak. Realistic or not, a team can have an 0-34-0 regular season record and be national champions.

And that's the way it is with practically any sport that has a conference tournament preceding a national tournament in the NCAA. Whine about it some more, it's not going to change.

Well, I hope this thread is a good reminder for the folks that don't venture into Hockey East threads how dumb Maine hillbillies are.

I don't like the ECAC any more than the other guy but the system is good and the ECAC will get smoked in the face in March when the time comes and we can laugh at them in due course. At the same time, does Maine deserve to be in the NCAAs? Absolutely not. Thank you, have a nice day. Lay off the moonshine and late night postings. Those two don't go well with each other.

Sounds familar although I'd say Maine has sucked for 3 out of the last 4 years, their is still hope for this year:D

My recollection is that Maine dropped out of the ECAC after the 83-84 season because they were not competitive. ;) From 81-82 through 83-84 they had a combined 11-52-0 league record.

They joined a new league called Hockey East, does that jog the memory:D What Maines record in the NCAAs against ECAC teams since?:D

I recall that they were referred to as Hockey Least at the time. :D


1-0. Games against Harvard don't count. :p

The "Official 'My Team Got Screwed'" thread usually doesn't start until after the NCAA Selection Show.

But I do thank you for keeping this "discussion" out of the PWR thread.
