THE University of MICHIGAN 2021-22

Didn't UND steamroll AIC where they then could have rested key players in the 3rd period of that game? Blame the decision makers that don't allow the #1 seed to play the early semifinal game. But hey, that whole scenario led to a different format. Thank you UND for your whining as you did it for the betterment of the game. Respect.

All the anti-North Dakota vitriol aside, the simple reality remains:

U of Michigan has not faced sanction for it's disregard of NCAA Covid protocol.

I'm asking that U of Michigan face real sanction for its disregard of Covid protocol*, specifically, the next time Michigan qualifies for the NCAA tourney (autobid or PWR) they are automatically out of the field. The tourney slot goes to highest PWR not in.

*whisking two players away in a van for 18 hours is enough admission of guilt for even a casual observer

And the rest of hockey nation is waiting for sanctions against ND for their displays in the arena after name change.

Seems worse to degrade an entire group of people than two players lying on a COVID test. Especially when the team canceled anyway.

Ah those were able to stay per the NCAA. Nice try though

suppose I should have added a #NotAllMen #NotAllBoomers but how many Boomers would be like "pound sign notallmen, I don't get it"? ;) (jokes the girl who doesn't tweet, but if she did her first tweet would be #poundsign #octothorp)

As a card carrying, dues paying member of the Boomer Class, I'll be the first to admit that we had some warts (only the Greatest Generation didn't) but I can say that--
  • Boomers didn't go around shooting each other in the streets. The term "drive-by" wasn't in the lexicon. (And guns were just as available then as they are now.)
  • Boomers could listen to varying points of view that didn't align with their own without throwing hissyfits and demanding safe spaces.
  • Those of us who have survived to this point know what a hashtag is.

The team that did that did not get to play in the NCAA tournament. Action followed by consequence. good?

Covid positive tests sent them home, as would've happened any positive team.

What's the ramification, the consequence, of factual misrepresentations on NCAA Covid tracking forms?

The virus cost them one tournament; what's the lie going to cost? (My guess: Nothing.)

Just like the COVID situation (as in sanctions). But someone misses that point because their team lost.

but the money justification to abuse an entire group of people is so ok compared to someone lying on COVID tracing that didn’t even result in anyone getting sick that we know of.

let’s check our priorities here.

you guys have some real issues.

They were sent home. And you lost.

Seemed appropriate given the person, and that you played down COVID since it started. Now you pretend it’s a big deal that should get sanctions. Make up your mind.

Downplay it all you want, the NCAA said Covid was a big deal. Big enough to keep fans out of arenas for an entire season. Lying to them about it should be just as big of a deal. But it's not because "that team had to withdraw anyways." It's sad almost everybody would agree had it been a smaller school, they'd be facing serious penalties/sanctions for doing so.

At the time it was a big deal. For the NCAA it would have been the easiest investigation ever. Even if they did, what would be punishment be since two years has passed? The NCAA by their inactivity has shown, once again, they are a governing body that selectively enforces rules. The bigger the name/money they bring in, the less like they are to investigate.

IMO the canceling of the GLI game against WMU was a bigger slap in the NCAA's face. Yes, U of M was discussing hosting the game while their HC was actively trying to weasel out of it 6 months before, the administration agreed to the game and put it on the schedule. Yes, U of M had the required number of players to dress a full line-up. No they had to rational excuse, but the Head Skunk Weasel made up some BS and refused to play the game. Why, just because he was worried about PW? Please. If he was worried about PW he wouldn't have played Tech. Oh wait, he was forced to play Tech...

If nothing else, Karma has caught up to U of M. Their HC is gone, they have a rookie HC, and while I'm sure they will survive, they have given themselves a black eye.

At risk of repeating myself:

Did you seriously think the NCAA was going to sanction Michigan over COVID? I hope not because COVID has become more controversial as the days and months move on. It's better for the NCAA to worry about football and basketball right now than ice hockey. There's no money in ice hockey for them so they will turn a cheek.

Not Covid, but I'd have thought falsifying information on NCAA tracking forms would warrant something. But your last sentence is dead-on.
