The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

The black jerseys would be cool to see, but I don't think they'll wear them. I'm hoping 5th time's the charm against this Denver team? I know Fratts is back tonight, so hopefully he'll come out scoring! What about Gleason, is he still out with an injury? Should be a good game tonight no matter what the outcome!

She hates America.

Dirty, that's only half true! ;)

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Here's something pretty amazing - the Sioux can still get a number one seed. It takes a win over SCSU and Denver win over bucky. Wow, didn't even look possible a couple months ago.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

No. If it finishes as I input the games, Denver, Miami, BC and UND would be number one seeds.

Nice--I've been under the impression we needed a BC loss to leapfrog them, but I didn't consider WI dropping.

In that scenario, any chance the committee puts UND in St. Paul?

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

tonight really did feel like the Ralph. It was pretty nice to be a part of that. I just hope they can pull it off tomorrow. It's just too bad that I won't be able to see them in person tomorrow night. I'll get to see DU/WI though. I'll get to watch the Sioux on TV at least.

Maybe I'll stick a sign on 94 that says we're better than st cloud tech.

Great two games...now keep it rolling Sioux!

Beat the Huskies!
BTW, what is the status on Roe? That didn't look good at all...

Good luck to the Sioux tonight. The way your squad is playing right now I'm just hoping we don't have another 8-1 debacle :o

From what I've read on SCTimes.com Roe didn't sustain any injuries, he's just really stiff and sore. Whether or not he plays tonight is a game time decision.

one of your counterparts was reporting a concussion. The way he went into the boards, I figured broken collarbone. I'm glad he's ok.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

No idea on that, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings.

If that scenario plays out, I would find it hard to imagine that they wouldn't put the Sioux in St. Paul. You would have the Sioux at 4 and Wisconsin at 5. Since Denver is a flight, I would think they would put them in Albany.

We'll see what happens tonight. We just need to control what we can control, and let the rest sort itself out.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Congratulations to the Fighting Sioux on winning the Broadmoor. For the past six weeks, this team has proved the naysayers wrong. It's been an amazing thing to see.

Now get some rest so you can kick bootie out east next weekend.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Well they got the denver monkey off their back last night. Next week, time to take care of the BC monkey.

Great 3 games, great team play. This team is really on a mission.

Yes it is. Hard to believe based on the taildive after Chay went down, but everybody seemed to pick up their game. It didn't hurt to get Frattin back, and Eidsness really played great the entire second half.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Congrads to the fighting sioux, good, entertaining game from both sides, and very easily, could have gone the way for the huskies(you could tell that they missed roe), but alas, it didn't.
On a completely different note;
I will never go to another sioux game(excluding when they play at the NHC) again. Just like my last trip up to NoDak, the fans I sat by today were by far the worse I've ever experienced in my life! Sore winners! Seriously, After we score the second goal, my group of friends all hugged in joy! To which an angry sioux fan threw an empty bottle at us, missed. Another, older sioux fan called us fairies and grabbed my shoulder to try and have me sit down. One two rows behind me talked trash to me the whole game, but none of it had to do with hockey, he attacked my weight, ability with the ladies(and thats putting it very lightly), my friends around me, he even claimed that I must be retarded as I probably have sterns county syndrome(impossible as I was born in St. Paul), and then his trashy GF laid in to me, and asked if I was going to hit her or something? getting bumped into in the concourse. Getting called gay because I wear an SCSU Scarf! I have been treated better by EVERYOTHER FAN BASE I'VE ENCOUNTERED .... Including the Gophers! When we tried to leave, the fans next to us wouldn't let us leave, and taunted us until we forced our way through. Enough is Enough, Way to make my final five experience way worse UND fans(not the team, I am not that mad about the score, or the game), hope you are happy with yourselves.

P.S. I really don't care if I am negatively reped for this, but if I am it helps prove my point. I am reposting this in here to let you know how you come off. I wasn't soliciting being treated like this. you all should know whats up.
and I don't really think this is a cry baby thing, your team played great, took advantage of the puck when you had it and your goalie came up big at times.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Really really impressive display of team hockey. Have noted for a month now that they are perhaps the most cohesive on-ice group of Sioux that I've seen in 30+ years. No superstars (grr) but play off each other and react to each other. Very enjoyable to watch.

As to the fan experience at the Xcel, outstanding Sioux fan turnout, including a larger number for Saturday. We got heckled a lot by some rude SCSU fans behind us, although it got quieter after it got to 4-2 Sioux. Felt bad because of the large number of kids around us.

Truppers, very well deserved MOP. One I will remember for a very long time. He was all over the ice virtually every shift. Sometimes, it came right to him (like that gift-wrapped shot attempt - that he whiffed on - late in the first after Zabkowicz fell down). But most of the weekend, he chased it down.

Tip of the cap also to Kristo, who was possessed tonight (again). He's really on top of his game these last few weeks. Very strong on his stick, and his play along the walls has improved to be nearly as good as he is in open ice. I hope he stays another year, but wouldn't be surprised if Les Habs make the call.

ON TO WORCESTER!!! Can we get the Holy Cross student body to turn out and support the Sioux?

This pretty much sums it up...

Well done Sioux.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Wow, just a great team effort in all three games.
Even after going down 2-0 early to SCSU, they didn't relent and stuck to their game plan.
Fun hockey to watch, they are really played well.

Nice to win the Broadmoor. Sucks to be rewarded by having to go out east and face Michigan or UNH...and then a potential date with BC. Ouch.

Go Sioux!!
