The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Wow, just a great team effort in all three games.
Even after going down 2-0 early to SCSU, they didn't relent and stuck to their game plan.
Fun hockey to watch, they are really played well.

Nice to win the Broadmoor. Sucks to be rewarded by having to go out east and face Michigan or UNH...and then a potential date with BC. Ouch.

Go Sioux!!

To be the best, you gotta beat the best. Bring 'em on I say. Berenson v Hakstol would be a great game, considering their last two embarrassing losses to UND in the NCAA's. As far as BC, we are due to beat them also. Remain positive.:)

Wouldn't that mean that Michigan is due to beat UND in the NCAA's as well? ;)

UND and Michigan are probably the two hottest teams in the nation right now. To pair them off in the 1st round just wouldn't be right. :)

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

I attended the Hockey East tournament this weekend and have also attended the last 2 frozen four matchups featuring UND and Boston College. If there ever was a year the Sioux should beat BC, it is right now. John Muse looked shaky from the get-go tonight, and at times BC's offense looked completely out of whack. Maine was the worst defensive team in Hockey East this year and it showed tonight, but if not for that, BC would not be in their current position. The Eagles take DUMB penalty after dumb penalty and guys like Samuelsson are more focused on playing goon-hockey than playing defense.

I have also become quite a Ben Blood fan over the last year and am hoping the Sioux end up in Worcester so I can see him along with everybody else I watch on Brad Miller Time every week. Like I said, if BC meets up with UND this weekend at some point I expect a Sioux win!:D

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

What a great Final Five. Might not have been the best for the rest of the WCHA fanbases, but they were rewarded with a great hockey game last night, a true WCHA performance. UND played like a team possessed this weekend...in fact, they have been for the last two months. The strength and resolve of these fellas is amazing. More importantly, they are STILL without their best player and are playing just fantastic hockey. :)

I'm very excited for this upcoming weekend, whoever we play. Unlike last year when the team backed their way into the playoffs, this team is steamrolling into the playoffs. Momentum is on the Sioux's side right now and more importantly, I think they believe in themselves more then ever. :)

4 more games, fellas. :)

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Just thought I'd post this...

Sioux get placed in the Worcester Regional...

Last Time that happened?
- 2005, Beat Boston U. 4-0 and Boston College 6-3

Sioux won the Broadmoor Trophy...

Last Time that happened?
- 2006, won Regional, lost in Frozen Four
- 2000, won national championship
- 1997, won national championship
- 1987, won national championship
- 1980, won national championship
- 1979, lost in national title game
- 1968, lost in national title game
- 1967, lost in national semifinal

So, the last time we played in Worcester, we won our Regional, and every single time that we've won the Broadmoor we have advanced to the Frozen Four. So to all you who are worried about potentially playing BC, look at history :p:D:D

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Yale, huh?
I was expecting UNH or Michigan.

Take 'em down, Sioux!

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Maine's season is over, so this for me is a NO BRAINER.

Go Sioux.

Best of luck, and bring home another National Title.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

RIT has won 10 in row.

Certainly nothing against RIT, but I think both Michigan and UND faced tougher opponents during their recent surges than RIT did. :)

Air Force and Canisius were both barely over .500, and other than Sacred Heart, the rest of their opponents during that stretch were well below .500.

Nice job on the sig - wanna change it a little more? :)

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

Am I the only one who has a calm, confident feeling as we tread through the early part of this week?

Typically, I would have a ton of butterflies already in anticipation of the coming weekend, but there is nothing yet....hmmmmmm.

No, you're not. The boys are playing a quality opponent, no doubt. But after last weekend especially, it looks like they are very ready to take care of business. It will be interesting to see if the officiating will be much different than what they are used to. The physical play has worked in their favor.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

The officiating could have a huge impact. We will find out and hopefully the players can adjust quickly if they have to. Physical play has been what has made this years team a force.

Personally i like that we won't have to play any wcha schools until the championship game. (if it all works out). It's a national tournament and it is fun to play some different opponents.

It definitely feels as though they cannot be stopped right now when they play their game; but the last team I heard referred to as "the hottest" in the league/country was the Dallas Cowboys in early January...

the team is where it needs to be mentally.

Re: The UND Discussion Thread - We Miss Chay

You're pulling a Denny Green on us, right? ;)
No I have been a college hockey fan a long time. UND has that feel of team thats getting better and better. The loss to the Gophers in the second game of the WCHA playoffs was prolly the best thing that could happen to them.It woke them up that they have to show up everynight and my gut feeling says they will
