Alaska with an 8.2 earthquake this morning near the Aleutian Islands.
Apparently it did trigger a tsunami but, thankfully, not a big one.Alaska with an 8.2 earthquake this morning near the Aleutian Islands.
No, that’d be a heck of a bridge. That was Ketchikan in the Southeast. Was Kodiak the "bridge to nowhere" nowhere?

Sorry, I have no idea what the distance is between the Aleutians. Is that the equivalent of stringing bridges between the Hawaiian Islands or something?
Note: I am stupid.
The program I work on supports a site on Shemya, AK which is in the Aleutians. It's 1,500 miles form Anchorage.
Anchorage to Dillingham is about 330 miles. This earthquake was a further 258 miles from Dillingham.Sorry, I have no idea what the distance is between the Aleutians. Is that the equivalent of stringing bridges between the Hawaiian Islands or something?

I didn’t feel anything from it.
Dutch Harbor, which is kind of in the middle, to Shemya is 800 miles.Anchorage doesn't matter. I'm talking about the islands. Are these close enough to throw bridges over?

It takes 11 hours on the ferry.
Horner to Kodiak is longer than the Florida Keys.
By nearly two orders of magnitude. Isn't FL to Key West only like 8 miles?
The latest from Texas: The governor is now ordering state troopers to stop any vehicle suspected of transporting migrant "who pose a risk of carrying COVID-19" and send them back or impound the vehicle.
