The States: Where We Wish Texas Would Secede Already

Had something near 400k members, though definitely not all were actually from Michigan.
That would be the entirety of Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Muskegon, and a big handful of towns between those city limits.

Possible? Sure.

Realistic? Half were out-of-staters and bots most likely.

99% of all internet group membership numbers are bots. I doubt that group has more than 4k human members, and more than 2k MI human members.

I think the guy who started it got what he wanted out of it anyway. He’s created a new organization and is probably setting it up for a run at state legislature.

Here comes the Angry white males and Karen’s :

“ BREAKING: The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has the authority to rename Lake Calhoun as Bde Maka Ska, its Dakota name, the state Supreme Court ruled Wednesday morning.”

Not even going to look. I'm sure the pearl-clutching is next level.

Which he'll likely win, since he's from a Dumpy sh*thole district and would be primarying a woman (assuming she's running for re-election).

Up and comer new money suburb. Not what I would call the target market for that ad. :)

They've made decisions to keep it more residential than a lot of other burbs. Too much commerce would bring up the undesirables from Coon Rapids.

Also, no police department. They use the Anoka County Sheriff.

Wait, this is still going on? I thought they changed it years ago.

The comments in the Strib aren't as juicy as I thought they'd be yet. Perhaps I just need to give it a couple of hours...

For those that aren't familiar with the story, an effort (now successful) was made to change the name of the lake from Calhoun to the tribal name due to the fact that the "Calhoun" in question was John C. Calhoun, a man with questionable views (to put it mildly) on issues such as slavery.

I have to admit that I laughed, though, at the comment in the Stib that said, "I thought they just should have renamed it after a different Calhoun." That's pretty funny. :p

Looks like Katie Hill resigning handed the GOP a House seat back in an all mail election.

Democrats sleeping in again.
