turns out thr R governor was dressed in drag in his high school yearbook. He does not want to comment on it

Because it's okay when he does it.

Also, please note that Tennessee ranks poorly in child welfare, high in substance abuse, high in poverty, and generally has a shitty economy.

Not sure where else to put this, but it looks like Chitown is getting a new mayor after Lori Lightfoot came in third place yesterday. So it will be a runoff between Brandon Johnson, who came in second and campaigned to her left, and Paul Vallas, who is in the lead, endorsed by the FOP, and campaigned to her right.

Vallas strikes me as an Eric Adams type: nominally a Democrat but only because they're in Democratic-leaning states and the Republicans have gone fucking bonkers.

I'm an outside and have not paid that much attention to Chicago, but Lightfoot struck me as... kinda not so great. Much more promise than delivery, not so capable a leader. No, I don't get this impression from the garbage right wing sources, just my observations. Admittedly, shitty observations.

Is this the Indian feather chick? I never quite followed how that worked for her in Chicago.

Tulsi hated her so that's a positive, but from her bio she just looks like an average zzzzz machine pol from Chicago. Most likely corrupt because they all are, hated by the Right because they are f-cknuts.

Let's just have the actual liberal win. He won't do anything to help because this is America we can't have real solutions, but maybe he won't be as sh-t as Rahm.

Lori definitely promised a lot and then underdelivered. The Pandemic kinda hamstrung her, but she did zero favors to herself by getting into repeated squabbles with aldermen. Especially when she was caught on tape yelling profanities at an alderman at the height of the George Floyd riots. And then, she got into hige squabbles with the Police Chief. The entire Police (who themselves were caught on video lounging in an aldermans office when riots were taking place on the street in front of the office. On top of that, she also had some other political blunders like her office covering up a botched demolition project in a Latino neighborhood that her office could have easily prevented.

Rahm was a smooth talker. Lori wasn't.

Also, Kepler, no, that's not her.

The setup is a former Cook County commissioner versus the former head of the Chicago Public Schools. Both have previously been on the receiving end of benefits from former Democratic Speaker of the Illinois House and persona non grata Michael Madigan, who is currently inder federal investigation involving ties to a local utility supplier. Madigan also famously ended the political career of a high school senior who wanted to run for his local ward alderman office, only to face off against a political buzzsaw in Madigan.

On the transportation side, our industry is leaning towards Vallas.
