Yeah, NYC has really been the incubator for a lot of candidates like this.

Which is honestly surprising because it’s NYC, the home of Wall Street, political corruption, and “maintain the status quo!”

Zohran’s victory is a repudiation of the DNC’s tack to the center, “maintain the status quo” strategy. And now those same people are online spewing “oh it’s just NYC, it’ll never work in the rest of the country.” Can’t speak for anywhere else but, in Alaska I don’t know if it would work because nobody’s ever tried it here.

People are not happy with the status quo, it’s a good chunk of why Dump won. He’s was full of shit but he’s was out there going “I’m gonna lower prices on eggs and gas, I’m gonna bring jobs back” etc. It was all lies but it resonated because this country is shit and he was offering solutions, racist, fascist bullshit solutions but still.

Zohran won because he was offering solutions that resonated with people. Especially, shockingly to establishment Dems, among young people.

Exactly. Aside from keeping soc and Medicare intact, Dems need to tune out the social issues concern trolling of whiny Boomers. We know the majority of them are selfish pieces of shit and they aren't going to change at this point in their lives. If Democrats don't jump on the landmine that is Gen Z men getting more conservative/authoritarian and propose policy solutions to counter that, then they deserve to keep losing elections going forward.

Those same people said Eric Adams victory was a sign the country was moderating to the center and he was the future of the Democratic Party.
