The States : red states in a race to the bottom

So Texas has an amendment from gop that if passed, would guarantee no more statewide offices for Dems (not that I think a dem would win the popular vote in Texas anyway):

to win, you need to win a majority of the 256 counties in Florida.

Even if millions of lazy fucks got off their fat asses and voted in the cities, it wouldn’t matter.

Yeah this is really something. Beau of the Fifth Column had a video on it.

Two professors at @utaustintx, John Hatfield and Daniel Bonevac, are suing for the right to penalize their students who miss class because they are obtaining an abortion out-of-state.
They "do not intend to accommodate student absences from class to obtain abortions—including illegal abortions and purely elective abortions that are not medically required." https://media.aflegal.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/14184442/AmendedComplaint-1.pdf

They are going to win too...but when did it became the profesors business why someone missed class?

Nothing like abusing your tenure privileges to own the libs and out yourself as an a55hole.

So one is a biz prof, no surprise there. The other is a philosophy prof.

Cool, cool. If that actually passes, I can't wait for more of these stories:

F*cking Libertarians.

*Edit* Also, what the f*ck does her being a Christian have to do with the price of tea in China. I'm more p*ssed off at those f*cksticks in Genesee County for proposing that the longer I let their Ax MI Tax website linger. It's the same bullsh*t some Yoopers have demanding that the UP becomes it's own state. Yeah, let's see how that works. 30% of the state land mass, and just 3% of the population with a median income hovering probably barely double the poverty line. If they thought the roads were bad now, just wait.

That is like the Red Nutters here who want to have their county leave Minnesota and join NoDak...I am willing to help them pack! No backsies though!!

I've always (semi) joked about just letting these "Tax is theft" people go and get a tax-exemption card. All they need to do to get said card is give up their driver's license.

Want to not contribute to the greater good? Fine. Then you don't get to use the roads with a motor vehicle since you don't contribute. This also carves out a nice, legitimate exception for hippies and Amish people who truly do want to live this way.

Ha, that kind of **** happens all the time in the outer areas of Wasilla. It’s even worse there because the fire coverage zones have to be continuous. So, if you have a neighbor between you and the fire coverage zone that doesn’t want to pay for it, you can’t get fire coverage no matter what.

"We don't stand for this is South Dakota. We just somehow missed it making it all the way up the steps of our state Capitol before we did anything to stop it."

PIERRE, S.D. - A group of about 20 masked people wearing bright red shirts gathered on the State Capitol steps and unfurled a Nazi flag in the afternoon on Saturday…

They were seen earlier in the day marching in other areas of the capital city. It's currently unknown exactly who the group is or where they came from.

Governor Noem took to Twitter shortly after the event to condemn the group's actions and ideology.
She posted her condemnation from the Nazis ‘R’ Us social media site. In private, she’s having her chief of staff to tell Bob, Charlie and Arnold to wait for their Tuesday night meetings, that’s when they’re supposed to dress up in their full regalia.
