The States : red states in a race to the bottom

Didn’t they already have it so that the replacement had to come from the same party? And if I remember right the party got to pick a shortlist who the governor chose from.

If anything, this would seem to hurt them if something were to happen. Now there’s a much longer time period with one less GOP vote.

Yeah I'm fine if the derpstate wants less representation in Washington.

Around here anyway homeschooling is just a method for paranoid evangelicals to keep their kids brainwashed a few more years. I don't know if that's typical or local.

I can imagine in a rural, inclement place homeschooling might not just be a con? Maybe?
It’s the GOP, it’s absolutely a con.

This is really dumb...it has a higher chance of backfiring on the party then it does helping. The Senate is going to be close...

I wonder if Moscow Mitch has more falls or freezing incidents that haven’t been in public

I would not be surprised if he and/or his senior staff are communicating this to select friendly state congress critters. Even if there isn't more than what we've seen, now is the time for contingencies.

Except they would need a special election...meaning the seat is vacant which helps the Dems more than it hurts them.

Democrats sweep the special elections in the Michigan House to regain control of all government going into the 2024 elections. The Michigan House has been a tie after two Democratic members were elected mayor of their respective cities. Now legislation should be able to speed through after grinding to a hault post the November elections of last year.

Edits: Because it was the house not senate.

Ohio's AG vetoes the provisional certification of Biden being on the ballot and the state leg said that it sounds like a Democratic problem. On to suing, I guess.

This is a level of desperation even I am shocked by. They are so afraid of Dems down ballot they are keeping Biden off in hopes people won't show up...

And zero chance Biden isn't on all ballots.

Most of Louisiana supports stuff like this. NoLa is one of the few areas fighting against it.

At what point do enough of the people voting for these scumbags wake up? What is it going to take to finally tip the scales?

Never. Ask our local GOP voters. There is no possibility of any of them abandoning this party, because this party is them. The cruelty is the point.

The current GOP and its voters is the most representative party in history.
