The States: Maybe A National Divorce Is A Good Idea After All

Carbs. And butter.

But... everywhere.

I get why the west coast and Colorado are fit. But I've lived in NY, MA, MD, NC, and VA, and those people should all be just as fat as the average MS or KS brood sow.

I don't get it.

Maybe it's just a map of poverty.

Highly processed food and constant grazing on convenience store garbage keeps us obese here in WI. Beer, sure, but it’s the other poison that’s killing us slowly.

I would bet you that female obesity chart would plot perfectly against a Dollar Store map and a food desert (lack of grocery stores) map.

Re tomorrow’s S. Ct. election: if we fail ourselves along with the rest of the country, it’s going to be very hard to take. I live in a small community but have a nice network (cocoon) of liberal, highly educated, interested, and interesting people, mostly couples but singles also. It’s too easy (and dangerous) to think most people think that way.

Whoa. That's... pretty close.

WI isn’t totally out of the woods yet. There’s a state senate special election tonight as well that the Dems need to stop the GOP from a super majority, where they could just oust the newly elected Supreme Court seat if they want.

That one currently has the GOP up 700 votes with 91% in, though it appears that Milwaukee is most of the outstanding precincts, which is good news.

Brandon Johnson wins Chicago mayor.

as elie mystal said, CPD ain’t been this mad since they failed to catch dr richard Kimble

That's a great joke.

I want to say Johnson is the surprise win, but I don't think so. With Lightfoot, Garcia, and others out, that helped rally the residents behind Johnson. The dirt that came out about Vallas in the last month also helped tarnish his dramatic early lead. Johnson's got some work to do, so it's going to be interesting to see how the city responds.

I foresee business as usual. It IS Chicago after all...
