Texas AG has request/demanded PHI (personal health information) from hospitals all over the country related to youth gender-affirming care. Most of those hospitals have simply refused the request. But Seattle Children's Hospital is suing over it.

Remember when the right would bleat endlessly about states' rights?

Parents sue Rockford school district over refusing to inform them that their child was now using he/him pronouns.

https://www.woodtv.com/news/kent-county/parents-sue-rockford-school-district-over-pronouns/

To be clear, the school followed district policy. The minor asked the school to use his preferred name and pronouns, and not inform his parents, thus they did not. He was accidentally outed by a teacher's note which used his preferred name and pronouns, that was included in an unredacted report that his parents read. Naturally, his religious parents lost their sh1t, pulled him out, and have been "homeschooling" him since. Now, a lawyer looking for his 15 minutes on Fox has convinced them that they have a case.

And yet the parents have no idea that their child feels this way until the school inadvertently tips them off.

Seriously, charge them with shitty parenting and let the kid be themself.

Family loses home in fire after fire department refuses to respond.

The Hale’s property sits just outside of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough’s Fire Service Area (FSA). According to the deputy director for the borough’s Department of Emergency Services, Brian Davis, because the Mat-Su is considered a “second-class” borough the local government doesn’t have fire power. Instead, that power has to be given to the borough by the residents who choose to form FSAs, vote to incorporate it, and pay the taxes associated with it.

Fire service areas have to be contiguous, we can’t pick up odd lots here and there,” Davis said. “The best opportunity for anyone who has questions [about incorporation] is to contact us here at the Department of Emergency Services and we will look at whether that is a service we can provide for them.”

Currently, anyone living outside of an FSA does not pay taxes on those services. According to Davis, the department would have responded if life was at risk.

But muh taxes!

I've often thought about the idea of giving these people a way out:

You don't want to pay taxes? Fine.

Forefit your drivers license. We'll still give you police and fire coverage (obviously AK is a bit of a different animal with population density), but since roads are mainly funded by tax $$$$ you don't get to use them.

I get there are tons of logistical considerations to be made here in real life, but in the hypothetical I would love to watch the realization of Suburbia as they realize that taxes are indeed the foundation for the Public Good and are very much needed...

Mom's for Liberty lady in Flo(R)ida has another sex tape having a threesome with a different woman. It's always projection...
