Wouldn't they have to add a constitutional amendment to allow them to leave? Not easy, but I think that if enough of the states wanted to band together they could make it happen.

It would be denying the rights of the citizens of the state to be American citizens, for one thing.
Yeah, a state leaving the Union that would have to be done by a vote, and then those who wanted to remain American citizens would either have to move their homes or petition for dual citizenship, or something like that. Before all of that, of course, there'd have to be an amendment to actually establish an exit procedure, like you guys were saying earlier.

During a Monday rally in the state capital Raleigh with supporters of the law that keeps transgender people from using the public bathroom of their choice, state Sen. Buck Newton, the GOP nominee for attorney general, strayed from the typical conservative talking points about public safety.
