See, I don't get why the Kochs want to spend money on AP HIstory teachers and school boards.
That doesn't fit their MO. Are they really trying to muddy their financials and their social side? Seems expensive.
If you want to understand the Kochs just pick up an issue of their mouthpiece, Reason. They are pretty complicated. It's 50% traditional libertarianism with a strong dose of 50's cartoon American exceptionalism (hence the Orwellian historical revisionism), all slathered in the butter of protecting their specific crony capitalist interests. It's highly entertaining because all those things contradict each other. It's as if Lew Rockwell married Greg Penner.
The massive derp fueled backlash against Alaska's Governor for NOT buying into this "no more refugees!" crap is ridiculous.
I wonder how many of the Govs said to themselves, "this is pure nonsense and I can't Constitutionally do anything anyway, so I might as well throw the red meat to the herpa-derps."
Nobody is pulling the strings. All fifty governors are scared s h ! t l e s s of their own voters, not the Syrians.I'm annoyed at BranStache. His morning comments were acceptable waffling that pandered to the right while being noncommittal and signaling to everyone else that business would continue as normal. By the afternoon he'd gone full derp.
Given how all these governors got in line that quickly, I wonder which big donor is pulling the strings.
Agreed. The GOP pols don't have to pause to think (no jokes). They lead a party that essentially has the slogan "Make America White Christian Again." They've been giving everybody other than that demo the middle finger for 30 years -- this isn't even an effort, it's an instinct.
But the Dem pols who are taking the easy way out are a disgrace to the regiment, just like when they fell all over themselves to polish Bush's knob after 9/11. Thus internal polling does make cowards of us all.
Fear is the mind killer...
Vitter loses to John Bel Edwards.Diaper Dave's at it again.
If you haven't been following the hysterical Governor's race in LA, Mr. Republican Family Values first tried to talk about his opponent going to a "strip club" instead of appearing at some FRC lynch mob run by Vitter supporters. When that had exactly the result you think it would by reminding everybody of the patriot's Pampers fetish, he's switched to trying to demonize the scurry scurry Syrian refugees.
I assumed Vitter would win this race, but it's looking more and more like he's somehow managed to blow it.
Vitter loses to John Bel Edwards.
Double win, as Vitter announces he will retire from the Senate in 2016, opening up an open seat election and a chance for another Dem pick-up.
Would Jindal run for the open seat?
