The States. It's 10th Amendment or bust!

Re: The States. It's 10th Amendment or bust!

The ends justify the means. Make the deal with the devil because your ultimate goal is righteous. It is why Fundies are in bed with Trump.

I don't get how they reconcile that with telling people God is omnipotent. If you really believe you are supposed to tithe with faith it will work out. SO how is this excused? (serious questions)

He'll probably write hatemails to the editor the entire time she's in office

While having sex with transgender women himself. Just like the Ohio politician who spends his time railing against gays was found banging a dude in his office

Re: The States. It's 10th Amendment or bust!

Current Michigan AG and likely next Governor, Bill Schuette, has openly accepted draft-dodging, teen-diddling Ted Nugent's endorsement (who, BTW, hasn't even been an official resident of Michigan since about 2005, and permanently moved to his ranch Texas about 2003). Billy Boy even Tweeted a photo with his arm around The Nuge. So, barring some massive scandal from likely Dem nominee Gretchen Whitmer, the chances of me voting for "Schuette On Duty" just went from maybe 25% to roughly 0.0001%.

The Virginia house GOP is threatening to do away with gendered titles. House members would be called "delegate" instead.

Is this supposed to be a punishment?

I thought if it as an accommodation. I'd have asked Del. elect Roem how she'd like to be addressed and go with it.

But I'm on the other side of the river and while it's interesting, I'm not losing sleep over it.

LOL. You can spin this however you want, but no - the Virginia GOP knows they are on the losing side of history. If Danica Roem was born female, or if they felt she was legitimately female, they would not suddenly be pushing for this change. It's a cop-out to avoid the issue, while they hope she loses the next election so she goes away, and they can stop worrying about it.

Want to call everyone "Citizen"? The French tried that.

Come to think about it, the US Senate has always used Senator when addressing a member, so there is precedent.

One of our members is thinking (very close) of transitioning from male to female. Whatever she wants to be called is fine with me. I'm not harmed by it. If I started calling her derogatory names, then I'm harming her and need to be called out.

I find it funny that this is over education...Republicans in Oklahoma (and a lot of the people) hate teachers and spend an inordinate amount of time blaming them for everything and fighting to cut their pay. My gf went to a national teachers conference a few years ago and the stuff she heard from the Oklahoma delegation was eye opening.

The Thumpers and the Republicans will always hate education. It is their mortal enemy. They thrive on a population's ignorance. They are bacterial infections; information and critical thinking are antibiotics.
