The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

The Best People.

A federal judge has found Kansas’s chief elections official — Kris Kobach, a Republican who helped lead a much-criticized commission set up by President Trump to investigate supposed voter fraud — in contempt of court in a sharply worded ruling that said Kobach acted “disingenuously” and that ordered him to pay the plaintiff’s attorney fees.

The order stems from a 2016 lawsuit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of Kansas voters in federal court against a state voter ID law. The 2013 law required people to provide proof of citizenship, such as a passport or birth certificate, when they registered to vote for the first time. The ACLU argues that the law violates the federal National Voter Registration Act, which requires state DMVs to offer people the ability to register with only the “minimum amount of information necessary.”

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

I guess we can date Cuomo's presidential run from 19 Apr 2018.

Cuomo just alienated a portion of his electorate. He's more savvy than that. What's really going on.

“To Dreamer and immigrants like me, these fabrications are offensive,” Make the Road Action member Antonio Alarcon said in a statement, adding that the governor “has no idea what it’s like to live as an undocumented person.”

“For those of us who came to this country with our parents to find a better life, and have struggled daily to get by and faced the threat of being torn from our family, it’s unbelievable that the governor would try to claim to have shared our experience,” he said.

After that review, will he beat Cynthia Nixon?

I'm a little surprised the Koch Brothers mafia hasn't sent some foot soldiers over to Missouri to have a "chat" with this guy about resigning. This is the problem when you keep electing total nutters with a God complex. They won't listen to anybody, even their own party. Blankenship in WVA is another guy in the Roy Moore club, completely shameless about his past actions.

The GOP forgot the most important commandment. "Never get high on your own supply."

They had such a great con going until they started to actually believe their own sh-t.

Long ago PCM (you remember PCM, yes?) told me, "Don't believe your own press." Same concept.

Sic, was it you or Patrick who posted "The List" each week?

Ever since I started here it was The Sica, but I was told that he assumed the duties from another poster.

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

I don’t know about that. Like five posts a week was a good week for years. Even during the heyday.

No, you weren't here in the thread's heyday. It would grow for a number of pages each week.
