Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

I hope if Pawlenty is the guy that Walz runs against that Walz runs him into the ground with everything that he did and tried to do to destroy the State.

If Walz is half the politician people say he is he will destroy TPaw in the debates. Should be must see tv.

Coming from a guy who voted for Pawlenty (and would do so again against certain DFL candidates) I’d vote for Walz. I just really like him. He’s honest and doesn’t feel the need to try to convince you he’s the smartest guy in the room.

Feel the need to bankrupt Minnesota for a reason?

God that is so stupid. You have to be a moron to even think that's rational.

We’re surrounded by a lot of dumb people. Any time an article is posted about the mN economy you get a bunch of people saying durrrr governor slurry speech and then a comment about how liberals have ruined Minnesota. And they truly believe that

I don't understand. I thought we were already spending too much money on education? What happened? I need some conservatives to explain this to me, please.

(yes, I'm being facetious)

Although, it might be time for someone on the right to step up and explain. I'm sure there are many Oklahoma legislators who can explain to everyone that they're spending all the money they need and there is a ton of waste that they need to get rid of.

I'll hang up and listen.

This is good. General strikes worked wonders on the Plutes in the first half of the 20th century. It's sad but we're right back there and needs to bring them back.

Won't really matter until white collar workers smarten up and unionize. And the Consumer is ultimately king.

As a Teamster myself, I know our contract has provisions that allow us to refuse to handle/deliver “struck goods”. This is such an easy call for them, no way should they cross an obvious picket line like this.

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

Pawlenty is terrible. Per 2003 MPR:

The recent signing into law of Minnesota's Personal Protection Act marks a victory in a years long gun lobby battle to make it easier to carry handguns in Minnesota. It is also the second high profile, controversial piece of legislation to reach Gov. Tim Pawlenty's desk after bypassing conventional Senate debate. And even some lawmakers who voted yes on the concealed carry legislation say the process by which the bill became law underserves the public.

Olson says NRA lobbying helped coordinate the final concealed carry push at the Minnesota legislature. "We had significant help from the NRA in the last three months," Olson said. "Todd Atkins from the NRA came in here. He's probably been in Minnesota 40 out of the last 50 days." The National Rifle Association's state political action committee has spent just short of $300,000 in Minnesota since 1996, including more than $60,000 last fall on behalf of Republican gubernatorial candidate Tim Pawlenty.

Now that Conceal has become law, there's no turning back.

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

Didn't know where to put this.

Former Best Buy CEO Brad Anderson was “completely shocked” when he learned that a conservative political advocacy group to which he donated $25,000 was involved in an ugly anti-Muslim social media campaign during the 2016 presidential campaign, Anderson said in a Friday interview.

Anderson said he gave to the group Secure America Now because he shared its position on protecting Israel.

“I never had any anti-Muslim desire,” Anderson said in an interview from his Florida home.

Shocked? Really? These are the smartest and brightest we have, our CEO's and they're really this naive? I don't believe him. I think he's lying.

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

"But I only supported this scummy policy, I can't believe they support others as well!!!"

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty said Friday that he voted for Donald Trump for president in 2016, which would have come just a month after Pawlenty called his fellow Republican "unsound, uninformed, unhinged and unfit" and said he was withdrawing support for Trump's campaign.

"I voted for President Donald Trump," Pawlenty said in an appearance at an Eagan diner, his first public event since launching a comeback bid for governor a day earlier. "I support most of what's he's doing, nearly all of what he's doing on a policy level. I just didn't approve of some of his comments and language and behavior."

In trying to mount a campaign with an emphasis on Minnesota's future and the concerns of middle class voters, Pawlenty must also grapple with likely resistance from some grass roots Republicans who consider him too moderate — and are already being reminded by Pawlenty's GOP foes of his past criticism for Trump.

These people are cowards.
