The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

Georgia must have all their important issues solved. Over the past month, they:

Passed a resolution condemning the NFL

Threatened Delta if they don't restore the NRA discount

And their Legislature passed a "Free Exercise Protection" bill, which is code for anti-LGBT discrimination.

Yeah, the ideology party.

Also a state senator claimed that Delta gives discounts to Planned Parenthood members and said he would get back with more details, and then - and this may shock you - has not responded any requests for those details! https://www.mediaite.com/online/cnn...ised-proof-of-delta-planned-parenthood-claim/

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

Planned parenthood members? *** is that?
Maybe delta gives a discount code with each abortion.

Here is the video...you can actually hear the moment when he moves the goalpost mid interview!

They are good liars. They just keep going and going and going and their base just eats it up.

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

I swear the host was holding back laughter knowing how ridiculous this is. I love at the end where she basically says "yeah you are wrong but when you try and prove your point we will just fact check you on twitter."

Re: The States: Doing Their Own Thing...

Another best states rankings (US News). Not too sure about it though as there's a lot of fly over land in there:

Ranking Health Care Education Economy Opportunity Infrastructure Crime & Corrections Fiscal Stability Quality of Life
#1 Iowa 3 5 17 4 1 15 21 9
#2 Minnesota 7 13 20 3 6 11 24 2
#3 Utah 10 3 2 35 8 14 1 22
#4 North Dakota 14 10 19 17 2 23 2 1
#5 New Hampshire13 4 11 1 37 2 26 4
#6 Washington 2 6 3 27 4 39 27 21
#7 Nebraska 19 9 21 13 9 19 11 14
#8 Massachusetts 5 1 9 14 45 5 40 25
#9 Vermont 6 8 31 6 35 7 16 26
#10 Colorado 9 20 1 28 14 29 31 10

The Fox News Headline? California has worst 'quality of life' in US, study says

Never mind that outside of NM the worst ten states are red...and that California's overall ranking is a middling #32.

I absolutely refuse to believe some of those Iowa rankings.

Maybe unofan can weigh in

#1 in infrastructure makes no sense. Our bridges are ****, we refuse to raise the gas tax, and there's no mass transit. The utility side is healthy, though, even if I personally hate the telecom companies at the moment.

Education, fiscal stability, and economy are lagging indicators. I think they're on the down slope, especially with the elected officials being hell bent on going full Kansas with the budget.

They have Idaho as 30th in education which is about 18-20 places to high. The colleges may be ok but elementary and high school education is abysmal. Otherwise I would agree with the others for the most part. Good, not great. Bad, not terrible.

Makes sense. I can't imagine Iowa has #5 education tied to its graduate programs...and would bet that K-12 scores are aided by a lack of diversity. Also not sure if Iowa has much better healthcare #3 than MA #9 or MN #7.

So, states with no black people don't mind investing in the community. It's almost as if there's systemic racism in this country.
