The States: At Least Michigan is Better Than Indiana

Re: The States: At Least Michigan is Better Than Indiana

Nope, that's still illegal. The language, as I understand it, states that a judge can take racism, homo/transphobia, misogyny, into account on sentencing, but it's not part of the initial charging of the crime(people like unofan can correct me if I am wrong).

It's better than what we currently have (nothing), but it's still too watered down.

I'd actually say that's the camel's nose and for now we should take it. It's better than their usual act which is to pretend that any knowledge of racism and homophobia should disappear once you get inside the courtroom, Plessy-style.

He must be like Mr. Burns on the Simpsons, where every disease known to mankind was trying to kill him including 5 that doctors had never heard of before, but since they were all infecting him at once they cancelled each other out.

I think he may be like Keith Richards. All the substances he has ingested have changed his body tissue, petrified rock style, and now he's Unbreakable.

Why'd I hear banjo music as I read that?

This job has taught me some weird things. I don't even look twice at a guy spit roasting a squirrel now. When in Rome.

Draw the line at nutria, though. Check this out:

Those are in our woods, folks. F-ck that sh-t, call out the artillery.

R.O.U.S.s?

Don't tell Scooby. He'll want his mortar. ;)
Me? No artillery. The CCW .40 cal is good on something that size to about 60-65 feet.

Nutria are an invasive species in North America. They should be eradicated. Just tell me they aren't carrying "prizes" (e.g. rabies, plague, etc). That would definitely signal eradication time.

But now to the most important question: How'd your co-worker prepare the nutria he's having at lunch today? Crock pot or grilled? :D

R.O.U.S.s?

Precisely. And I wish they had stayed in the fire swamp (i.e., the Carolinas).

These f-cks also have no fear. They will walk right up to you. I have seen motorists deliberately swerve to hit them, and I applaud it.

So do auto body shops and car alignment mechanics.

Nah, they're soft.

What you don't want to hit is a possum. I dunno if it's an urban (rural?) legend but I've been told their bones are so sharp and strong that they can blow out even modern tires. Looking at them I'd believe it.

Have some nightmare fuel:

Re: The States: At Least Michigan is Better Than Indiana

Possum? Meh. Walking up on a sleeping rabid coyote or finding puma tracks in the driveway when the snow has been down for less than four hours, that's a bad day.

And I don't swerve into or away from animals on the roadway. The swerve action is dangerous and not worth it.
