Re: The PPACA Thread Part V: Doctor! Doctor! Give me the news!

Really? This? ^^^

There is not one piece of evidence ANYWHERE that suggests their plan will do anything of the sort. Not a one.

You assume that "work" means give people better health care at lower costs, you know, what they say they are trying to provide. It could just as easily mean line their pockets and kill off the poors.

Re: The PPACA Thread Part V: Doctor! Doctor! Give me the news!

The funny thing is that they'd likely say the same about you. You're saying their plan CAN'T work, while they're saying that their plan can work, that it will fix health care.

I'm not saying they're right, but it's all in the frame of mind for those who're doing the work.

Oh it CAN work...just not at fixing health care ;)

Problem is their plan is going to kill off as many rural, misunderstood, deserving, innocent, worthy white Poors as urban, violent, undeserving, guilty, unworthy black Poors.

There's gotta be a better way.

Never ceases to amaze how they always find money for the Military Industrial Complex and the 1%.

It's almost as if the entire Republican program is just to funnel more wealth to the wealthiest and f-ck everybody else.

There may be a problem with your assumption that they value white poors.

Straight repeal gaining traction.

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-brief.../340200-trump-repeal-obamacare-now-replace-it

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) on Friday sent a letter to the president calling for the same strategy of passing repeal first and replacement later, if Republicans cannot reach a deal by July 10.

(Rand) Paul has also proposed the idea of passing repeal first and then separately working on replacement, and praised Trump's suggestion.

Re: The PPACA Thread Part V: Doctor! Doctor! Give me the news!

At this point, if you continue to identify as a Republican, then you're a Trumpist. The "Party of Lincoln" charade is 100% dead and buried.

I don't even care about Trump. This is the part that is dead on:

Here is a reminder: All of these people are members of a political party presently working out how to strip reasonable access to healthcare from tens of millions of vulnerable people—the poor, the sick, the elderly—so that they can kick back some tax money to the richest sliver of America’s upper class without imperiling the job prospects of those of them who won elections by branding themselves as “moderates.” Imagine thinking literally anything else “represents what is wrong with American politics.” Imagine fretting over what does or does not empower women while your own party conspires to strip prenatal care from mothers. Imagine wringing your hands over civility while plotting to bankrupt and ruin the families of sick children so that a few billionaires can bleed just a little more cash out of the society they’re destroying.

Nothing Donald Trump puts in a f-cking tweet could ever equal the least portion of the cruelty the Republican party presently is working to enshrine into law. What is wrong with American politics can be summarized by the fact that these motherf-ckers are not in jail.

Be proud of yourselves, Republicans. So very proud.

They are. They dont give a crap what we think, or what anyone thinks unless they are passing a check or casting a vote. They havent since Ike.

These are people that hold Ronald Reagan as their Saint...a man who named names in the Hollywood Blacklist, lied as much as Nixon and was caught, exploded the deficit, set public health back decades and ensured AIDS would become a epidemic cause he hated the gays, exploded the prison population and made drug cartels rich with the stupid escalating of The War on Drugs, was flat out senile his last term in office, and personally armed Saddam Hussein with weapons he then used to invade Kuwait. And that is just the crap off the top of my head.

Thing is, though--even if they had emailing capability back when he was on the throne and he had been competent to use it, there is no way he would have abused it like HRC did. There's the big difference.

All true except for AIDS and the gays. Reagan himself didn't care either way about gays or any of the argle bargle from the Magic Book except insofar as it could be exploited for political gain. His religion was that of glad-handing Chamber of Commerce types who join the local church to move their business cards around.

AIDS research was slow to get off the ground under Reagan partly because of the blind GOP ideological hatred of any federal funding that wasn't weapons or corporate welfare, and partly because new epidemics do tend to outkick their coverage.

Saint Ronnie wasn't a hateful person. Like most Republicans he just believed a lot of stupid hocus pocus that turned out to have terrible effects.

Elizabeth Warren's opinion on the Health Care Bill.

Make no mistake, if this Senate “health care” bill passes, the rich will get richer and other people will die.

He could have gone against what the GOP thought...he didnt because he didnt care. He was friends with them when it came to fighting the Commies or living in Hollywood but as soon as he was groomed for higher office he turned his back on them and certainly would have never supported funding the CDC research into the matter. Thankfully the French didnt give out public health funds based on sexual orientation...
