The PPACA Thread Part IV - Repeal & Replace, or Something...

Re: The PPACA Thread Part IV - Repeal & Replace, or Something...

I'm pretty sure the majority of people being hurt by this administration so far have been Trump voters. The tax reform they're proposing swings that back the other way.

It's still going to hurt Trump voters, because they get zilch while the country goes further into debt, so they're in just as bad a position on an even worse playing field.

And don't forget that if they get their health care bill passed those voters are going to lose their health care.

Suckers.

Not sure why you wouldn't want this to pass. Dems chances at reclaiming majority go through the House next year not the Senate. Would take Trump hitting Nixon during Watergate levels for the Senate to flip. Lots of GOP reps in Hillary won or marginal districts that don't need this vote hanging over their heads. Vote against it and Trump loons are on your case. Vote for it and you just voted to give tax break to billionaires by cutting Medicaid, and now have to sell that to angry constituents.

Re: The PPACA Thread Part IV - Repeal & Replace, or Something...

Failed again.

The GOP is Striking Out More Than Byron Buxton!

They took a horrid bill, made it worse and expected it to pass. To paraphrase Doc Holliday in Tombstone "Maybe Health Care just isnt your game Ryan...I know...lets have a spelling contest!"

They are 0-2 on Health Care, and their tax reform is only going to pass in Reconciliation and that is IF they can fix the fact that it is going to crater the economy for decades. (cant do that in Rec) The GOP lead government is making the Dems look like FDR ;)

Re: The PPACA Thread Part IV - Repeal & Replace, or Something...

Ben winkler reporting the GOP is working all weekend to get the votes in the house to repeal and are getting closer, and the senate could them move fast too. No one is talking about it, which is what they want- no media and then no angry constituents

So in Lyin' Ryan's world, a hot Ayn Rand gangbang. How does the GOP feel about necrophilia?

Sweet let them pass it. The amount of GOP House Seats that will be in play in the midterms will be hilarious. The people havent bought this crap from day 1 and they certainly arent going to accept this piece of crap either. The town halls will be epic!

With that said I dont see any way the Fredumbs and the Moderates can agree on anything...the needs are too diametrically opposed.

I'd feel for the people losing health insurance but it's clear people are used to the positives that the ACA has given them, and people don't like having things taken away from them. Why don't these Republicans realized that repealing and replacing the ACA will be suicide for the party? 8 years and they dont' have a viable option to replace it that people will like...

Trumpcare 3.0 is back from the dead. Per FNC, they are aiming to actually bring it to a floor vote Wednesday. The Freedumbers are on board, the moderates can suck it.

tl; dr: If you're sick or at risk of illness, older but too young for Medicare, lower middle class but too rich for Medicaid, and in a red state, then: You. Are. F-cked. The correlation of that description with Trump supporters is, let's just say, astronomical.

The Republicans may be about to give the Democrats a generational electoral gift. Right now everything that goes wrong with health care, even the stuff nobody can address, is blamed on the Dems because it's Obamacare. By the end of the week that may have reversed.

It was also discussed in the Trump thread because he guaranteed Pre-existing conditions would be guaranteed. (which is counter to what the Freedumbers seem to be saying) They are pushing the High Risk Pool canard and now the only way states can opt out of the Medicaid expansion and such is by having the High Risk Pool. So not only will your insurance skyrocket if you have diabetes but if you cant afford it or you are out of work the state will make sure you cant get public assistance either.

That is why I posted I want this to pass. This is what the people wanted, time for them to sleep in the bed they made. The Dems will laugh all the way to the midterms on this.

They're basically stealing the money from the high-risk folks and giving it to the rich. Pretty sad. I imagine my premiums won't be affected even though he's saying they will.

I hope Kep is right. And I pray that someone has some new ideas. What I'd like to see is them figure out what the budget needs to be for Medicare for all and just take the money from the overpriced Defense budget that doesn't even pay for Health Care for Vets.

Tennessee's new plan is ER Care.
