The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

Someone talking about the VA system, and the quotas we have to look forward to.

Whether or not it's real, and I'm sure certain people will claim it isn't, just note that it can and will happen. I called this one five years ago. You cannot possibly do a single payer system with such a large country. The USSR failed for precisely that reason.

How about we just laugh at you and your nonsensical stories? That seems like a lot more fun unless you can come up with a reason why we shouldn't....:D

The key to success in trolling is to be unpredictable. ;)

I thought the USSR failed because Super Reagan stared down that scary grizzly bear, not some mamby-pamby bureaucratic bull dung about health care...

Close. :) We played guns and butter with them. We both went for guns. We could also produce butter, but the Soviets could not.

I keep looking at the Federal Health Benefits System (FEHB) and wonder why we have exchanges and VA. Why not shuffle everyone into FEHB and adjust the premiums according to what class you are.
Postal pays Rate 1
Other Feds pay rate 2
Active Military pays rate 3
Retired Military pays a sliding rate based on years of active service and disability
Civilians also pay a sliding scale based on smoker / non smoker and other risky behaviors.

I know - it'll never happen.

FYI - Non postal fed workers pay about 1/3 of the premiums with Uncle Sam picking up the rest.

Re: The PPACA Implementation Phase II - Love it or Lose it!

According to the Inspector General of HHS,

WASHINGTON — Federal officials can’t resolve 85 percent of 2.9 million “inconsistencies” on applications for ObamaCare even after nine months of trying, according to new data provided by the administration.

Most of the problems involve certifying citizenship and income, key components of the national health plan.

One unidentified state-run marketplace cited situations in which infants and young children were “erroneously identified as incarcerated, according to federal data,” the inspector general for the Health and Human Services Department revealed Tuesday.

Just 425,000 problematic applications have been resolved out of 2.9 million that states and the federal exchange reported, [according to] the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Only citizens are eligible for ObamaCare, and only people at certain income levels are eligible for tax credits and subsidies.

But in 77 percent of the applications under scrutiny, federal records differed from what applicants submitted on those two key qualifications.

So administering the plan gets really intrusive of personal privacy, and they are getting it wrong 3/4 of the time anyway....

it's not like lives are at stake or anything....

Alternative is what was replaced, no?
I believe a number of proposals are out there. Try google. However, until the Senate changes hands, why bother to bring anything up as Prince Harry will consign any GOP changes to PPACA to the outer darkness.

The Senate is going to change hands this cycle (unless the GOP honor their herpa-derps by shooting themselves in the dick again). It's going to be fun to see what they put out there.

The great thing about being in the minority is you can say anything you want without any responsibility or consequences. As such, it's the ideal place for the right. It would be a shame if they screwed it up and actually had to back up their words with actions. Hopefully for us both (and the country) this won't happen.

And this is where conservatism is ideologically bankrupt. Saying "Oh google some proposals" is wimpy BS. What can Republicans get passed through their bitterly divided conference for a President to sign into law? Or even easier, what can they pass through the House which they control and have for going on 4 years now? If as mookie says, the alternative is the old system, then embrace that and shout it out loud and proud.

Did you look? :)

Unless the Congre$$ flips to veto proof GOP majority in 2014, nothing can change until after the 2016 elections.

GW Bush passed things with a Democratic Congress yet Obama can't with a GOP Congress? Gee, I wonder what ****ing party is the problem????

Hope is eternal I guess. I don't share Kep's pessimism (he is the same guy who thought Scott Brown was going to beat Lizzy Warren after all ) but any small majority the GOP gains in a best case scenario is going to be reversed in 2016 when Repubs need to run for re-election in Dem states (Johnson, Kirk, Toomey, and Ayotte might want to get their resumes over to lobbying firms now). Given that and the less than 50% chance a Republican wins the Presidency means you'll be having the ACA for a long time.

Yeah, that has nothing to do with your boys political skill. Its all their fault.

I'd say his political skill is as good as the two idiots cock blocking him. Boner and McConnell. McConnell's only goal was to make him a one term President. Boner couldn't even get his successor reelected never the less pass any meaningful legislation while he was Speaker.

What glowing praise. I'm surprised you didn't blame it on Bush
