Re: The Power of SCOTUS V: The Final Frontier

Can somebody tell me who died and left conservatives in charge of the reproductive and medical decisions of total strangers?

These people aren't conservatives; they're radicals.

The far more damaging problem is the widespread perception that voter fraud occurs, and tilts elections consistently to the same side.

Oh, that's one heck of a racket you've got there. Scream about voter fraud to create a widespread perception that it occurs, and you've created your rationalization for the law you wan to pass.

I like his usage of widespread, although I suppose if you limit the sample size to FOXNews viewers it probably works.

Right up there with those other great Elephant Walkerisms, "Some have suggested that" and "I'm not making the accusation; I'm just asking the question." Let's play:

Some have suggested that FreshFish's constant regurgitation of hackneyed wingnut polemics and empty-headed talking points have resulted in the perception that he has no credibility. If this perception is widespread, will people stop responding to him?

I'm not making the accusation that he's an obvious troll. I'm just asking the question.

Last Week Tonight did an amazing job on a story about civil forfeiture laws a week or two ago. Highly recommend watching it.

Re: The Power of SCOTUS V: The Final Frontier

Let's say arguendo that Margaret Sanger is History's Greatest Monster, narrowly edging out Jimmy Carter.

What relevance does that have for women's reproductive rights now?
I love you how and others always flip to subject to something other than what I said, and yes, Margaret Sanger was a monster, unless you are on board with exterminating the Negros, as she advocated. Joe mentioned eugenics and I merely noted that the history of eugenics is rather grisly and then gave a little history on it to people who didn't seem to know the history. Spin that how you wish.

Bob, we know what you were doing.

It was really appalling. LWT is the best show on television. We can honor the passing of Ben Bradlee by noting that true investigatory journalism now only exists on the Comedy Channel.

Think about that.

As I said, Bob, let's assume Sanger was everything you say she was. Let's give you that, 100%.

How does that have any relevance on women's reproductive freedom today? In what way does it matter?

Technically speaking, HBO :)

LWT, GoT, Bill Maher, Vice, and for the next year The Newsroom are the only reasons I keep HBO. If not for Maher, Vice, and LWT, I'd probably cancel and just buy the blu-rays.

If people are talking eugenics, and I was posting on response to joe bringing it up, then it's relevant to look at the history of eugenics in this country and elsewhere. If people tried that tactic on something else distasteful from the past, like Nazism or slavery or whatever, it'd look silly, as it does here.

Vice is awesome. I mean, I can't sleep for days afterwards and I usually either want to kill somebody or myself, but it's phenomenally brave and well done.
