Wisconsin leads 1-0 after a period. The first five minutes were pretty even, then Wisconsin controlled the middle of the period. A really nice penalty kill seemed to wake Minnesota back up, though Knowles just standing around at the offensive blue line, leading to Zumwinkle needing to take the penalty wasn't good.

Wow!.. all the whining about the time and it doesn't matter as bc scores anyway 2-2 with about 4 seconds left

Oh my, did the bc coach throw her clipboard on the ice before the goal! Seems like it doesn't matter as the goal counts. Should be a penalty on bc however...

I have watched a lot of Gopher/Badger hockey over the years. In recent years, Wisconsin has had the better team. We Gophers have liked to think differently...but they have had more talent. As of the last month or so, I have the sincere belief that dynamic has changed. The Gophers have gelled and there is at least parity - indeed, we could well be ahead. As a result at home, this game is really the Gophers to lose.

So far the Gophers are playing great NCAA tournament hockey. Reliable, defensive. It makes total sense. UW is playing great in season, rivalry hockey. Off the rails, No holds barred. That meshing of styles is a problem. Between MN UW here, the Gophers have it wrong. This is not one and done. This is nothing to lose.

I may be waay off. But I do have the sense that the Gophers will figure this out and take control.

I can't believe there was no penalty on the bc bench. The refs were wrong about not adding time, but a coach throwing a clipboard.....that's 2 clipboards in MA this year.

Minnesota comes out of the locker room for the second and plays three minutes if *terrible* hockey. 2-0 Badgers.

Crowley throwing her clipboard...if not to wave off the face off and goal via a penalty called for unsportsmanlike, then there should be at least a penalty to go into overtime for BC....why shouldn’t the ref call for immediate suspension of play when Crowley loses it? Interesting rule change to come, I think

Not good, as was the poor sportsmanship play by #7 knocking the goalie's glove off as she skated by Frankel.

On the icing call, the BC player didn’t get back to the end line until the 7.4 remaining....it’s not when the puck crosses the line....once they changed from auto-icing, the player has to make the play!

You may be correct...I was thinking the player has to get to the faceoff dots.

Anywho...Bonus hockey!

Ludwig and Kaehler simply refuse to call the rulebook. They may prefer a game with checking, but that's not the league they work in.

Big turnover by bc and Northeastern buries the breakaway and win in OT...3-2. That feels like the correct result.
