I would buy that if the guy had his hand up (raise your hand if you are stupid!) I have no opinion about the penalty being legit or, as being claimed in another thread, an intent to injure. I just don't like the presedent of arbitrarily retroactively calling a penalty. That means we will have all sorts of claims that this or that coach influenced them to call a replay. (So weird to not use Jackie Parker as an example :p :D)

I would assume it will be during today's games. I have to give them credit for actually talking about the games in between periods. Stark improvement over previous years.

After further discussion there is no question proper protocol was followed by all four officials on the ice.
Refs can't use video to determine head contact. Used video to correctly identify the offending player

I guess my question is if neither ref were calling a penalty, did a linesman speak up?

Well if that's actually what happened, kudos to that linesman. I don't think every one of them would have the stones to speak up in such a big spot.

Bu couldn't beat Harvard this year, but had no issue traveling to Siouxland and splitting a weekend. :rolleyes:

The WCHA is without question a great, great conference with a truly rich history, but that doesn't change the fact that more recently, the conference has been on a downswing with only 1 NCAA Title in the past 6 years, vs say HE, which has 4 during that same stretch. The fact that 3 of your traditional powerhouses (MN, UW & DU) just got beat respectively by a middle of the pack EZAC Yale squad, UMLOL and the University of No Hardware only confirms that fact.

According to Starman, that's what happened. Ref missed it, linesman caught it, said "we've got a major," went to video to ID who it was.

And if we do manage to get by the Union juggernaut, we have to play ON Easter, which will be extremely distracting.

It's amazing how badly the committee UTTERLY HOSED US this year. Hopefully BC finds the internal strength and determination to battle through it and make it to Pittsburgh anyway.

That Notre Dame team did not play like they did when they ended my team's season. Sort of like how the Gophers only showed up for the 3rd period of the Yale game.

Speaking of Yale, now I'm even more bitter. My team should have been in on name recognition alone, but no, they let Yale in instead, because they palyed well all season or something. Then Yale goes and gets to play a Minnesota team that isn't trying, and a nameless North Dakota team. Lame. Yale didn't deserve to be in, Michigan should have been there. We should be in the Frozen Four. Doesn't everyone want to see the same teams in it every year? What is this crap with schools that have never won titles going to the Frozen Four. No one wants that!

That's what it looked like live. As soon as play stopped both linesman spoke with the ref and seemed to have a strong opinion about something.

So... to the people who posted that winning regular season titles don't mean anything... Three of four of the Frozen Four teams all won their conference's regular season title. Only one of those won their playoff title. Bigger body of work showing the overall depth of a team's abilities.

If we were Western fans, we'd be saying the same thing about Minnesota.

I want to find out who the biggest jerks are in Atlantic Hockey. I bet it's AIC for not getting Dirty a jersey...
