Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Whereas you have...?

A keyboard and an internet connection?

Hey you're right. Can't fool you. Besides owning a keyboard and a connnection I know unequivocally that that the players neither respect or like Whitehead . Also that his track record as a developmental coach is abysmal ( talk to some NHL people and check their opinions before you open you're mouth ) and that his bench management and tactics/ systems leave something to be desired. If you can refute any of the above statements with examples or testimonies ( Articles or interviews attesting to his tactical brilliance or the fact that he is a great teacher or a players coach ...that sort of thing ) I would be open to listen.

Since Blake James has shown NO BALLS to make coaching changes in hockey (or any other sport), all we fans can hope for is that the the team improves their level of play. And if this results in a playoff appearance of rogue National Championship.......then that is a bonus! :)

So sue us.

c'mon... he fired pat laughlin, the men's soccer coach... of course, he also cut the entire program....:(

I know unequivocally that most of the players do like Whitehead. So I guess we find ourselves at a paradox.

No one here is going to argue with you.

No argument. Instead of taking the time to post a provocative comment you would have been better served to point out factually where and how I was wrong.

I didn't say you were right or that I agreed with you, just that this discussion has been held before in the forums and I don't feel the need to go through it all again. People here bitched and moaned when he took teams to the Frozen Four - I expect nothing less from people now.

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

Congratulations to Tanner House. He was selected co-player of the week in Hockey East. Also, congratulations to Scott Darling for being selected Pure Hockey's defensive player of the week in Hockey East. It was a great weekend. Let's hope they keep it going against Providence this weekend.

Re: The Official Maine 2009 season thread:The Revenge of TIMMAY!!!

I don't see the Portland Pirates playing at the Alfond this season on their schedule. Anyone know why? Attendance not covering costs? Too, bad they provided entertaining hockey. Seems strange they would play a game in Lewiston where it's so close to Portland.

I think it should be YOU that offer specific examples or testimonies from your so-called "players" or "NHL people". Its so easy to come on here and say you know players don't like or respect their coach or that "NHL people" say whatever, but you offer no basis for your remarks and so have no credibility. If you're going to make such a provacative statement, name some names (feel free to add yours as well). You won't convince me (ever) that every one of the players are not grateful for the opportunity they have been given to play for a quality D1 program at Maine, for their scholarship and academic opportunites and to live their dream to play college hockey and beyond if they are so fortunate. Who do you think gave them this opportunity??

Jeez, and everybody seemed so happy here for awhile. That didn't last long.

I'm guessing that they want to tap into the LA market in the hopes of drawing repeat customers down the turnpike. I doubt they sell much popcorn and beer to people living in Bangor.

Tanner also got recognized as INCH player of the week:

Dustin Penner's also mentioned at the bottom of the release.

I'm happy, I think the team played great last weekend, I hope they continue it this weekend. I'm not ready to anoint them 2010 nat'l champs but any improvement is a plus

What a joke. Do they really think that there is much of a market at that price? Its 8X the price of a regular ticket. I bet they would settle for $500 a game.
