I remember the goal pretty well. The Elmira defensemen went behind the net and tried to make an outlet pass. But, the Manhattnville forechecker either deflected it and the puck ended up behind the goal.

Tuttle got caught on the wrong post and the Manhattanville player got the puck and did a wrap around to the other post and put it in before Tuttle could get his pad to the post.

I remember an EC defenseman near the top of a face off circle passing it backwards to another defenseman on goal line behind the other circle when it was picked off in the slot. Tuttle got a piece of that shot, but it was quickly wrapped around from behind the net. Tuttle made that save too by having a pad on each post while doing the butterfly, but the puck jumped up in the air from the kick save and it was knocked in (10 inches off the ground) on the third attempt.

Once again the Prez tells it as it is-----and elbo I will be lurking around until the end because win or lose for EC, I'll be there to tell you------ it shoulda been Mville.

So sorry that the best four teams after the 8 AQ's got in. Maybe next time we will remember participation ribbons so you can feel better.

Come on guys, he has a legitimate beef. I'd be upset/bitter too if I was in his shoes. Let him vent a little so that he doesn't go postal at work. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Mville should bill the NCAA for there wasted trip up to Elmira. Had Mville known that game was meaningless they could have at least saved $ 5,000 dollars on their traveling budget. They have enough of those meaningless ECAC west trophies anyway 3 out of last 4.

I agree the NCAA is screwed up..MVLLE should be told before the game that it's meaningless..my understanding is that the primary criteria for qualification was met by Elmira before the game (SOS being the decider) regardless of outcome..as SGT Friday said

I am sure the Manhattanville coach knew that also, if not, shame on him. This was discussed a week or two before the Championship Game and it was stated then that a M'Ville win would not guarantee a bid.

The rules changed on them.

The rules did not change, there is no rule that says the winner of the ECACW championship playoff game automatically gets an invite to the NCAA tourney. There may have been some perceived rule based on historical precedent but no rule.
