The official go 2-5 in last 7, lose to Mville in ecac championship. Go to ncaa thread

A farce and a travesty. Shame on the NCAA. The players all know who was better. I cannot believe that the NCAA would sanction these 'championship' games and then subject the participants of these games to the treatment they received. Elmira players in tears being consoled by M'ville players only to be jeered and taunted during a bogus post tournament spectacle of meaningless banners and awards. Cheer up boys, we all know you lost not to an EC or Oswego(EC beat Oswego) , but to an undefeatable, nasty, heartless, brainless appendage of the NCAA . Hope it dosen't happen to anyone else's son.

Couldn't agree more: makes D 3 Hockey look real bad...

I just have one question: what if the situation had been reversed: I don't think some of the fans calling for calm would be so levelheaded...By the way, I have no rooting interest for either team...Well, now I hope Elmira losses: flame away...

If you read back through the threads, it's pretty apparent that nearly all of the Elmira fans thought that Ma'ville deserved the bid. However, that would have required you to actually perform a bit of due diligence rather than spew baseless suppositions. BTW loses is spelled with only two esses, not three.

manhattenville versus elmira..and who should get in ..oh elmira did lol..i believe "like bad calls on goals that should be waved off" the decision made is final ..lol..guess the people that make that decision do it with some thought..??it seems to me that most of the people who are making comments didn't see either of the 2 games manhattenville won...let's take a poll and see who was actually there or not (we know valliant wasn't he couldn't make it to see his son in what has turned out to be his last game)..we also all know that at times the score on the scoreboard doesn't always indicate the best team won..both wins came to manhattenville on very questionable ref's calls ..and even the final goal in overtime was not without some questions as the net came off and players from both teams ended up all over tuttle elmira led the tournament game which i don't think as a sudden death 1 shot game should carry as much weight for NCAA selection to the tournament as the results of the regular season (i know it was only by one point..in the season) but anyone who was at the game knows that elmira was the better team and i again point out check the tapes ..the tieing goal at 59 minutes and 59 seconds should never have been allowed the goal tender interference the crease and goalie were covered with manhatten players for manhattenville it was a"miracle on ice and for elmira it was being "jobbed again by lousy referring..the good news for the NCAA is the selection people made it right..better luck next year manhattenville..maybe the strength of your overall schedule will need to be considered good luck to all in the tournament .."one and done doesn't mean the best team will always win on the scoreboard..but it is exciting so let's enjoy the next few weeks ...nothing else to be done as all decisions now are final

Flame 1...Thanks for the English Lesson: I read this thread, and the poster got slammed for saying his opinion: That was the extent of my diligence...

Good lord!

Learn where the enter key is dude!

Second, Elmira and Manhattanville were even at best. Mville wanted it more and they proved it in the final period and overtime.

Niether side dictated the play that much more than the other over the overall course of the game.

I don't know who is the better team. They are pretty much dead even. But, IMHO Manhattanville deserved to go based on the previous precedent of the ECAC West champion always getting into the tournament, Elmira was 2-5 in its last seven games, and the comparison was so close to begin with.

When was the last time a 20 win team was left out? I feel NEC maybe in 2006 or 2007 had 20 wins and was left out.

Hopefully Elmira doesn't give fuel to the fire for their critics and lay an egg against Curry on Wednesday or we'll never hear the end of it.

Another question, when was the last time the ECAC West regular season champion was left out? My guess is not very often.

2005 is the only one that jumps off the page to me when Utica won the regular season, but lost to Manhattanville in the ECAC W finals and missed out on the tournament.

That team, with Sokol and Ames was very very good.

I also believe the imfamous Ron Mexico was on that team as well.

Stout was 21-5-2 in 2006-07 and wasn't even considered.

Predze man you talked about looking at things through elmira coloured glasses in one of your mamy many many posts
..did you have yours on at the game or any glasses..oh and if you have a tough time with reading my posts because u think there should be more space that also might be something to deal with FROM AN EYE STANDPOINT..
elmira deserves to be in over manhattenville based on total season ...head to head play etc etc etc all the selection criteria ..look it up check it out and tell me where they miss out on the stated selection process head to head..even on NUPROF poll they were ahead of manhattenville
..maybe manhattenville should be in as well ..but it would have been a big injustice to not take elmira over manhattenville ..with video replay and reasonable correct call .. ..elmira wins the game 3 to 2..it was still only one game hardly the main selection factor that you seem to suggest is the main factor..go eagles ..who are you cheering for Predze??????

:D :D :D In fact, it was Ron Mexico who scored the winning goal (assist to Jimmy Sokol) at 8:12 mark of the 2nd OT in the semi-final game against Elmira. I think you remember that game, Prez. :p

You're preaching to the choir here VD. No way in Hades Elmira should have gotten the bid.

Well summed up, and might want to also add in AGAIN that it was NOT a "Championship" game in the selection process, it was just another game.

Instead of slamming on the NCAA committee and "Had Mville known that game was meaningless they could have at least saved $ 5,000 dollars on their traveling budget." I guess maybe you should read the criteria AGAIN and figure out how things work before spouting your mouth.

My only question is...where were all these Manhatanville whinners the last two years when dealing with Adrian. We all know how much SOS has in dealing with the committee, Manhatanville didn't have it.

How many Manhatanville whinners would be whinning if Lebanon Valley somehow made it to the Championship game and BEAT the mightly Violents? You play in a league with no automatic bid. Either move, or quit playing the cupcakes of the ECAC NE10, NE and SUNYAC cellar dwellars...plain and simple.
