The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Anyone know of any local (Cincy) watch parties for those of us who can't get to Detroit?

I forget the name, but there is a place in Downtown Hamilton that has watch parties for the tournament. Saw them last year. Its a block from the government building across the street from first financial bank. I want to say its the uptown something. I would call there, that isn't too far from you. Well probably the closest you will find. If you email Nick Brunker at 1530 the homer he may know of one close to downtown.

I would but I threw out the knee again last fall and haven't laced em up since. So not really sure if its good to go out there or not

Ah come on, its just a pick up game. nothing intense, you were walking fine last weekend. Get it done!!

You mean like standing in front of a pitching machine?! ;) Funny thing: I was just at the cages this afternoon. Unfortunately, I forgot my chest protector so I couldn't stand in to take one for the team.

Side note: have any of you had to wear a helmet in SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL CAGE?!?!?!?! Are you flipping kidding me?!?!?! Felt like a 30 year old wearing floaties in a wading pool! jeebus!

ummm line of the year lol

I was more looking at his wonderfull performance as the waterboy to only come out and dominate lol:D

I actually think RHBM should bring the tuba and play the Miami fight song on the bench inbetween shifts! lol

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

College Hockey News has a nice breakdown of each team.

I would direct everyones attention, even to the BC fans reading this, to the goals scored for both teams. 159 for BC 146 for Miami. So for all the talk about BC's high flying offense, while they have scored more goals than Miami it isn't an astronomical number. However in the goals against department BC has allowed 103 goals compared to Miami's 79 on the year. The numbers would prove otherwise when comparing these two statistically. Miami doesn't get out scored by much but isn't looked upon as a high scoring team yet they allow far fewer goals than anyone else. Maybe others will realize that BC's offense isn't much more high flying than Miami's.

Even with that, I would bet a significant amount of money neither team gets to 5 goals. But anything can happen, however good defense usually prevails over good offense so I would expect a low scoring game.

Showing off my new multi-quote abilities!

Also RHBM- Love the position you put down lol :D , you get any tips from Adam Sandler to help with your performance? :D

He just said he would send the "You can do it!" guy to motivate me.

I would probably be more effective skating with a tuba than I'm going to be while trying to play hockey. :p

I was thinking more along the line of in the lockerroom, on the bench, during intermissions...but while your playing would be more entertaining lol :D

ummmm again classic, atleast you got paid back later in the day. BTW that last bucket did me in, or maybe it was that whiskey shot  .

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

agreed. on a slightly brighter note: today is Opening Day. So no kids should be counted as "absent"

Or just skip em all I say :)

And boom goes the dynamite - Pujols bombs one, great start to the season for the Reds.

Add a second to that. Pujols is on pace to hit 364 Hrs on the year!! :D

If Chris Dickerson stays on this team for the rest of the season, I flipping quit!!! He has no business being on this team. Can't hit, can't field, can't throw. Reminds me of all those "5-tool players" from the Bowden era.

When I was driving to work this morning shoulda called the bookie. Harang was starting. Nix and Dix were in over Stubbs and Gomes. Easy money.

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Since the Miami-BC banter has kind of cooled a little, those looking for a laugh should take a gander at the Wisconsin-RIT game thread. I'm not taking a side one way or another. All I will say is that they are creative!

And it is now official: the Red's World Series run is now a come-from-behind effort.

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Looks like the Miami club team didn't advance past pool play in their national tourney, losses to Montclair and Grand Valley, but smoked Pool D winner Colorado. If they could have picked up the Montclair win (1 goal loss), they would have advanced. Granted, these games were two weeks ago, just now saw the results though.
