The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Alright, children (and I'm among the younger here!)... simmer down.

For the most part, Miami posters have been regarded as one of the more level-headed groups on these boards. At least, until recently. Stop giving us a bad name by turning every single criticism of our team and school, whether completely BS or not, into an epic forum battle worthy of the most notorious trolls. Take the high road: be proud and confident in our team, don't talk smack about other teams (particularly upcoming opponents!), and stop picking petty fights with other fan bases. I understand a lot of it is friendly banter, but it's not all coming across that way. Let's talk some more hockey and some less trash.

Yes, I understand that a couple individuals may have said outlandish things in other threads, but by and large, comments by others were blown out of proportion and misconstrued in your efforts to fire off a quick response before taking the time to actually think about what was said. Just don't feed the trolls, because at this point it seems as if some Miami posters are becoming the trolls themselves.

Remember this: we're headed back to the Frozen Four for the second consecutive year, and the second time in school history. Regardless of what others say, that is a great accomplishment. And beyond all of that, we have an amazing group of boys to cheer for and be proud of, and no matter how many more games we end up playing this year, that won't change.

Love & Honor

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

I was watching the BC-Yale game on www.justin.tv last Sunday. John Muse's brother was in the chat room with us, agonizing over every play John made. When BC scored that 150-foot shorthanded 'fluke' goal, I chimed in with, "I'm glad the brother of the Yale goalie isn't on here." :D

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

BC has shown they can win low scoring games and high scoring affairs. I'm sure Miami has done the same. BC is certainly a better offensive team while Miami is stronger defensively. Makes for an interesting battle. I don't expect a 1-0 game nor do I expect a 9-7 game.

Exactly, two different styles. One will prevail. That was my point in my post. But seriously there are some people that are way to sensative around here lol...:D

You able to watch any other games or just games from one of those teams?

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

They are this sensitive......tin foil hat syndrome reigns supreme over at Eagleaction.com boards which has labeled this thread as anti-BC.

This thread is the most non-anti-BC thread out there. We all know BC is a very good club. We give them their props; there's no reason to kiss their ***, though. The posters on here really don't expect much more than a 3-2 game.

When you go to the justin.tv website, do a search for NCAA Hockey. It will come up with the game of the day. Usually it's a feed from ESPNU or such.

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

I should have mentioned...on the day of the game. I haven't checked if it's on after. It was a live feed, but could have the tape on after. not sure.:o

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Please tell me you guys really aren't this sensative.... Half of this crap is all tounge and cheek.

No, just pointing out the hypocrisy of what you were saying earlier...

Come on you can tell that 99.9% of those comments were tongue in cheek. If you go and look they are all just parodies of something that was said in the BC/Miami thread. Not even necessarily by a BC fan, most of them were the Brown troll over there. There are only so many ways you can say that BC has a great offense, Miami has a great defense, should be a great close game, which it will be.

Just keeping it light and fun, but I understand why you guys are misinterpreting all this. I can guarantee you there is not a single person in Oxford who is looking past BC, and as you said vice versa.

You're right, and there are no BC fans that are looking past Miami...something we had to explain for multiple pages in that thread to one of the Miami fans.

I think some of that confusion came from her not knowing that Onion Man was not a BC poster, but you're right in that the whole thing was getting a bit ridiculous last night.

Oh for sure, I think he has me confused with her and saying I was saying all that. I am far from a hipocrit and never said anything in regards to BC not being a good team etc...

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

While I like the extension, I can never understand even talking about this stuff in the middle of the season. Can't even wait til he doesn't have to focus on the Frozen 4?! If you do it mid-season, like, say December...NP. But not right before the biggest game in these kids' careers! (just think that's the mentality they have to take)

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Great job Miami. Keeping a class act and a great coach around for another 7 years at least. I guess that will finally put to rest that one tool implying that he had applied for the OhSt job

Big victory for the program, our boys, and future success. Probably easy to guess he should be the universities highest paid coach. Hopefully that deal included more money for Berg and brekke.

Woooop woooop woooop

I always thought that the only place that Rico would really consider would be leaving for: Minnesota. They have the money, tradition, and established recruiting platform. There is no reason for him to go to Ohio State - does it have something that I don't know about?

No, OhST has the $$ obviously, but they don't have a hockey facility. There was someone on their coaching thread that had "inside information" that Rico had applied. Well, I guess they have to drop their expectations down a peg and go after Wayne Gretzky apparently... ;)
