The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

I don't know if anyone had heard this already but I heard second hand today that LoVerde's aunt was the woman who was killed in the accident at SeaWorld last month. Understandably he was having a hard time with it, some pretty serious depression, and that was one of the contributing factors to the heart problems he is having now. So again thoughts and prayers with Vince and his family.

That is affirmitive. He was a paul bearer (sp?) at her funeral, also was part of the issue with his arrest before conference tourny. He definantly needs everyone's prayers, the kid is going through a rough time right now. Another hardship this team has to go through with one of its own really struggling right now.

No surprise but no Cody in the Hat Trick

Bobby Butler, Blake Geoffrion and Gustav Nyquist.

Geoffrion's to lose, IMO.

Definitely. I know alot of people were expecting Smith to make in there, guess little brother will just have to make up for that before he leaves Oxford (time to step yo game up Riley) ;)

Not sure how anyone missed this, but Congrats to Tommy Wingles for hitting the century club. He now has 43 pts on the year for an even 100 in his career.

Also Connor Knapp has moved into second spot statistically nationally behind teammate Cody Reichard. RIT's DeMichael is up to 4th, while BC's John Muse comes in at an impressive 24th  ... Not surprising 3 of the top 4 goaltenders in the country statistically will be in detroit, but only 2 can play lol...

BC's John Muse comes in at an impressive 24th

In case you missed it in the other thread that number is very misleading. See, BC lets their opponents score on them when they are up big, it makes the other team feel better. They are very good sports.

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

I noticed a lot of crap about BC throughout this thread. You guys are confident in your team and we're confident in our team. That's how it should be. Trust me, nobody is expecting anything but a close, hard fought game.

That's very charitable of BC, I'm glad that they adopted that philosophy this season. John Muse must have a good heart to look that bad in net for the other teams sake.

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Didn't you guys hear? Jerry York went over to the Bulldogs and told them "eh, we're going to let you put 7 in". Clearly, BC could have scored 379 if they wanted, but they didn't want to.

Who has said this?

I have to say I'm a little surprised by all of the BC hate from the Miami fans. Hey, whatever floats your boat. I think the RedHawks have a great team this year and I'm sure it's going to be another great game between these two.

The Yale/BC game, btw, was probably the most entertaining game I can recall watching outside of the BC/UND game at the Frozen Four in '07. Just back and forth the whole time.

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

LOL is this thread for real? And there was actually a Miami fan crying in the thread about the game that BC fans weren't giving Miami enough credit???

And keep talking about all these goals BC is letting in, they've had 2 games in their last five where they've given up more than 2...meanwhile, in Miami's last 5 they've scored more than 2 only once, and in that game they only scored 2 in regulation...just sayin.

Please tell me you guys really aren't this sensative.... Half of this crap is all tounge and cheek.

We all know here BC is a very good team, no one is taking them lightly.

We have also had offensive out burst throughout the season just as you have. We have had games where we didn't score a lot of goals, just like you. We have had games where we let in a lot of goals, just like you and we have had a lot of games where we didn't let in a lot of goals just like you.

Fact of the matter is BC wins games by having to out score the opponent more often than Miami. Miami is more comfortable playing a low scoring game. Its a difference of two styles. Miami has a lot of offensive fire power but more often than not they don't need to score 5 goals to win games.

It is what it is. I will say this I would much rather be the team with the great goaltending and defense than the team with the great offense. Its no secret Defense and goaltending wins championships. One team has done a better, more consistant job at it all year. That is just a fact.

LOL what you expect a pat on the back?? Not hate, look at it as respect. You have knocked us out 3 of the last 4 years, that suppose to make us love you guys?

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Interesting that BC created a superline and sacrificed depth

This is not an accurate statement. BC's had the same lines for a while now. Alber was in for Paul Carey. Carey will be back against Miami. Talk to anyone who's seen BC play and they absolutely have the deepest group of forwards in the East.

We have also had offensive out burst throughout the season just as you have. We have had games where we didn't score a lot of goals, just like you. We have had games where we let in a lot of goals, just like you and we have had a lot of games where we didn't let in a lot of goals just like you.

BC has shown they can win low scoring games and high scoring affairs. I'm sure Miami has done the same. BC is certainly a better offensive team while Miami is stronger defensively. Makes for an interesting battle. I don't expect a 1-0 game nor do I expect a 9-7 game.

Re: The Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part III: Time to finish the job!

Are you Miami (D'OH) fans going to stick around for the Saturday game or just leave with the team on Thursday night? I'm thinking of flying out for the final and want to get some cheap tickets from some dejected Firechicken fan for 5 cents on the dollar. Please and thanks.
