The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

If the ATL guy only got fined $40k last week for his second offense (for a much worse hit) I don't think Walden gets docked that much. Definite penalty of course.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

I want a replay of that Bears punt return. No idea how they faked everyone out so badly.

Of course, they are the Bears, and it was called back for holding, but still.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Play of the year and it's called back by someone who probably had money on the points. Jeebus.

Re: The NFL Thread, Part III: What lockout?

Bears ran this really clever/lucky punt return vs. the Packers, everyone went left, punt went right, returned untouched for a TD.
It was a hell of playcall, packers punt punts it to his left into the corner. Devin hester acts like the punt is going to the punters right. Johnny Knox is lined up as a defender on the gunner off to the punters left. Knox retreats to catch the punt while all the defenders attempt to cover Hester. Knox has a free run down the sideline to score, except the other defender lined up on Packers #24 (besides Johnny Knox) gets called for a hold. I'm currently uploading pictures of the "hold"

Playcall was great, I sort of feel like it's dependent on the punter to play into their hands though. Or heck, maybe it wasn't even designed at all.

There is no way that wasn't designed. ALL of the guys on the return team were on the Hester side of the field. :D

Im sure the Bears found a tendency on film that Masthy goes left when asked to pick a corner...or based on the wind knew he'd try to direct it left.
