That's probably the most likely option. Have driver 2 somewhere between Madison and the Cities ready to go!

Since it's considered a private coach, they can have the extra driver on the bus. At least that's what they did with the Ferris owned fan buses to Tampa. The one that was chartered had to stop and pick up drivers along the way.

But having a driver on bus who needs to sleep takes up a bunk. When we do 2 driver trips, privately owned, we swap halfway.

Re: The New WCHA 3, Revenge of the Sieve (2013-14)

As much as I hate Huntsville, I hate St. Clown more due to several experiences with Hussy fans at the National Concrete Center in past visits there (so much so that I won't go back there, and it is only an hour from me, closer than Bemidji's 2.5 hours). I have only had one experience like that in Huntsville with a fan.

Wow...that says something. :)

I could hear the St. Cloud fans over the broadcast. I couldn't make out if it was anything ugly, probably because I was too busy lamenting that I could hear the St. Cloud fans over the broadcast.

Ugh. What a night. :(

Obvious solution is obvious:

Make the coaches get their CDL's. :p

You could hear them? Good, because they were good. Nothing worse than I give.

GFM <— terrible broadcaster tonight.

Did all of the midwestern folks make it through today okay? EF-4 tornadoes in mid-November is usually our deal.

*gasp* A "tornado"? What is it?

"It's a strong bout of wind that blows in a circle, but that's not important right now".

This was an interesting afternoon in my neck of the woods... Had the cells that produced the tornadoes down in Pekin, IL, Washington, IL, and Coal City IL pass just a few miles south and east of my place... Basically knew since about 11am or so that we were lined up with the strongest cells... Thankfully they died out a bit by the time they got up in my area...

Was actually pretty amazing being able to follow the storms in real time through the internet and radio reports coming over my police scanner... Also kinda scary realizing that there is a 10-15 minute lag time between those reports and what is being said on TV

During the 2011-04-27 outbreak — which looked like https://www.dropbox.com/s/pqxr4vut8...40288713_197508906960813_619575_2652637_o.jpg here in north Alabama; our part of the state where the red warning polygons are stacked on each other so much that you can't see "Huntsville" — I was sitting on the bathroom floor of my not-well-made townhouse when the TV, blaring in the other room, told me that there were signs of a funnel cloud at the city hall in Madison, which is about 1.2mi as the crow flies, directly in the direction those tornadoes were tracking. I was about 50% sure that I was a moment or two from dying. I was wishing that I had a scanner right about then.

Then the monster tornado of the outbreak — the one that went straight at the NBC affiliate's Doppler radar[sub]1[/sub] and the tower camera, which left me screaming, "You idiots, the tornado is right bloody there!" at my TV — destroyed all of the major power transmission cables coming out of the local nuclear power plant, which was fine but had to drop production by 90% until everything was back up. I left town the next morning when I knew the damage that was done.

Sorry, we all have our own April 27th stories, and until UAH wins a league game, I'm going to talk about something else. But if you want me to talk hockey, I'll point out that all three UAH opponents have now played each other through Bemidji. You now have a bad-good-better comparison. I'm beginning to wonder if the league might not get decided on who plays us the most[sub]2[/sub], which does not favor Ferris or Tech.

[1] They all have their own here, plus the NWS radars around the area. When it looked as if the NWS Huntsville office would be closed, the TV stations went into an arms race.

[2] I see you printing this out for the locker room, Laurila.

Re: The New WCHA 3, Revenge of the Sieve (2013-14)

3 minor tornados confirmed in the NW Ohio area Sunday evening, but nobody hurt. By the time the front got here it had lost most of its steam.

Re: The New WCHA 3, Revenge of the Sieve (2013-14)

Pretty much the same here in SW Ohio - some wind & rain, heavy at times, @1500 homes lost power for short period of time.

While this doesn't change the spirit of the article, I'd like to remind everybody that the Pairwise (PWR) doesn't even exist this early in the season. The column listed as "Pairwise" is actually "RPI" (one of the components of PWR).

Re: The New WCHA 3, Revenge of the Sieve (2013-14)

SBN College Hockey has noted the disparity between the human polls and the WCHA: http://www.sbncollegehockey.com/201...rankings-round-up-are-we-overlooking-the-wcha

Weren't we supposed to be a one-bid league? Don't all WCHA member schools pad their stats against Huntsville?

GFM
I think part of the reason for this is the fact that the Big10 is terrible this year. Minnesota is good, but Michigan and Wisconsin? I'm not convinced, and the other 3 are TERRIBLE. Also the Nachos aren't as good as they think/thought they are. That is a 2 or 3 team league as well, with the rest of the teams average at best. Hockey East, on the other hand, is ****ing stacked.

Well, if you want to go that route, the Pairwise is a selection criteria and doesn't exist until after all games are played and the NCAA field is picked. Up 'til then, it's not really a "ranking system" and never technically exists.

Why do people get hung up on this? I'm replying to moose but this is more about Freddie. The PWR is a ranking system that mirrors the NCAA selection criteria used at the end of the regular season to determine the NCAA field. That doesn't mean the ranking system can't be used to rank teams at some other point of the season. As long as games have been played, the PWR can be used to rank teams but the more games that are played, the more accurate the rankings become. This whole notion that the PWR don't exist until the end of the season or this early in the season is silly. USCHO might choose not to publish the PWR yet but that doesn't mean Siouxsports.com or CHN can't publish Pairwise rankings based on current results.
