The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Considering all the mayhem in the BCS, I say that the NCHC were ahead of the curve.

It's cute that you think college hockey is the same level as college football. There will never be anywhere close to the money that flows through college football and basketball going through college hockey. College hockey is a niche sport and will forever be.

Thank you Captain Obvious.

Unless we hear that Notre Dame is a slam dunk to join the B1G, today's announcement is still a good day for the NCHC. Eight programs give the league stability and SCSU was always on the NCHC short list. It was President Potter who almost screwed the pooch for them.

You really should just stop posting.

Yeah, I'm sure the goal from the get go was to add teams like SCSU to your "super conference".

Not to mention, even if Notre Dame decided to say "yes" now, odds are pretty good they will still be in discussions over their football future. The football situation isn't going to be over with even if things don't happen now. It will continually be a question because these football conference situations will still come into question in the coming few years. Which means you'll never feel confident they'd stick around in hockey... and neither would any entity thinking of investing in a TV deal.

The way you try to spin this league as some entity that has come across flawlessly is laughable. The problem is everybody can see through that baloney with ease. You can keep talking this stuff in an attempt to convince yourself but it isn't working with anybody else. :D

Lets say Notre Dame joins your little conference the potential allure of the Big Ten will always be hanging over the NCHC shoulders. Now we wait to see their football decision.

Maybe, but you can't blame ND from being cautious about joining a football conference in which one of its long-time members has been beaten by two Dakota teams in the last several years. While this unnamed member may be accustomed to such beatdowns, ND has a reputation to uphold.

Huh?

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

League stability? Right.

I'm sure when North Dakota and Denver started this new conference they envisioned they would have to include St. Cloud and Western Michigan.

The LTHC now includes DU, UND, CC, SCSU, UNO and UMD. Sounds a lot like the WCHA to me. Why'd they leave again?

He is saying Minnesota is not good at football....

Bruce McLeod is a total and unequvical butt*^$ %^& sucking &^%#bag. Remember, had McLeod resigned as WCHA commish at the spring meeting, none of this never would have happened.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

The whining never stops... Why'd they form the NCHC? Simple, and it's not just DU/Sioux greed...

Because we would all rather watch Miami, and yes, even Western Michigan, than Bemidji, Mankato, Anchorage, and Tech.

You guys are acting as if everything is black and white - either we get the perfect conference, or we shouldn't have changed anything at all. Welcome the real world, where there are shades of gray. Nobody can control what Notre Dame does, just like nobody could stop the Gophers and Wisconsin from jumping ship.

Not sure I would have taken St. Cloud (but before all of the whining and complaining from St. Cloud folks on here, I no doubt would've said they were the next best choice available). They are, without a doubt, the next best Minnesota team available, so why not? Decent sized town too, it fits.

But here's the very simple fact, and the only one that matters. The 8 teams in the NCHC TODAY will make for a better and more fun conference to play in than the WCHA we would've had. Dump Bemidji, Mankato, UAA, and Tech, add Miami and Western Michigan? Any day of the week.

Plain and simple...go F yourself. It's nice to know history means nothing...good riddance to arrogant *****s like you. I could care less if I never see Michigan Tech play a team from Colorado ever again.

I think we all care about the game and the teams that are in it. The realignment some might say is a knee-jerk response. Don't be the jerk part of it. Your team will survive and the sport needs you to or else more will fall. I sound like President Eisenhower on the domino theory here....

Wait...did they leave the WCHA because they didn't like McLeod, or because they wanted to "dump" the other five...errr...four teams? If McLeod had resigned, would Denver and UND still have jumped ship? If they wanted to get rid of him they could have done it...they apparently had six of the remaining 10 WCHA votes, so couldn't they have just fired him?

Used to care about all of the teams. Now I'd like to see every one of the teams that went to the BHHC fall flat on its face. Let 'em burn.

Nope, don't care about Denver, CC, Faison, Gwozdecky, Alberts...screw 'em. The B1G Mistake may have created this mess but DU and UND pulled out their knife and stabbed whats left of the WCHA right in the gut.

Some of us care about the game and the teams/schools that play it. Some are only interested in the money they imagine they are going to get from a TV contract. They don't really care if programs fold, or the tournament eventually shrinks, as long as they can stroke their egos and tell themselves how awesome they are. You can figure out which is which.
